Hi Peggy, I finally got some info and read the list of ingredients in the one product I was interested in and it had ginseng in it which way over stimulates my adrenals, so I won't be doing their stuff. And I don't do well on blue or blue green algae, so klamath algae and spirulina don't work for me. I can do plain green, as in chlorella.

So what are some alternate products that you know of. I LOVE Juice Plus, but I am always looking for alternatives since I know the body gets tired of the same thing all the time.

Re: Usp is not natural

Donna, Cell Tech products very expensive, and there have been reports that their much-loved Klamath Lake is now polluted. Don't know how valid this is, but part of the selling point is the environment in which the algae grows--all of it is in Klamath Lake. I used the products for maybe a year without results. But I have multiple health problems. My husband is a cyclist and thought he got great results from the algae, but has done as well on non-MLM products and no longer uses Cell Tech's. Cyclist friends also tried it and liked it, but opted out soon because of the expense and the availability of other quality products for lower prices.

Hi Donna, The only products I'm familiar with that are green and don't contain blue green or spirulina are Dr. Schulze's Superfood, which I'm taking now and think is great. At least, so far so good--I've only had it for about a week. It tastes fine, not fishy like spirulina, which I can't stand. Oops, it does contain some spirulina, but probably very little as it contains so many other things. You can see the ingredients at the dusan site or www.healthfree.com although they call it Vital Nutrition Plus, but I'm sure it's the same thing.

The other product I like is ProGreens by Nutricology. I don't remember what's in it, but there may also be some blue green or spirulina but it can't be much cause you can't taste them. You can get that via Vitamin Shoppe at a discount. It tastes great in juice. A month's supply is about $30 for either of these products.
