Doesn't Green tea contain Flouride, harmful for hypothyroids?

Yogi brand Kombucha Green Tea..how abt Fl content in this tea?

I stopped drinking (caffeine free)Green tea completely ...which I started like

2mths ago and coincidentally my thyroid went low 2points further during tht

period of drinking it.

I concur with Val. If you can find Yogi brand Kombucha Green Tea at your local

grocer, you will find that Kombucha has benefits for the adrenals and the immune

system. It has been helpful for me. Enzymes, fresh veggies, lots of water--all

very helpful. There is much to learn about enzymes, as each one is best suited

for a different food type. Good luck!!

Val have you found that tea to make a noticeable difference? I looked up

the ingredients and it is green tea with herbs and dried kombucha added

- given that its a tea bag I am wondering how beneficial it could be?

Apparently Kombucha is actually made from a ferment of sweet tea and a

yeast type culture called Kombucha - the resulting liquid is Kombucah

tea and is full of enzymes - it is meant to be drunk " live " like all

cultured foods - not freeze dried, pasteurised or otherwise preserved.

As for green tea and fluoride - I still have not been able to find out

if organic green or black tea has less fluoride. anyone else shed any

light on this - I enjoy mu cup of organic tea and I must say I have

never liked green tea so its no hardship to give that one up.

Black teas definitely have several times more fluoride than green (raw)

tea, because the fermenting process concentrates the fluoride, as it

concentrates flavor. Herbal teas and coffee essentially have none.

Hi I'm new to this site but just a thought: Tea and coffee have

flouride in them if you use tap water. Tap water is full f flouride

and chlorine so use a high quality bottled water like fuji/or fiji I

believe it is called or order a compete fltration system for you home

with an additional filter system under sink for drinking water. We got

a great one from Aquativa.

Hi Kerry--

That's a very good point--One may also look into a line of Kombucha drinks on

the market--they can be found in the refrigerated section. I have read a couple

of books by Shomon. She has some infortmation about flouride and tea, which

may be of interest. As far as water, I have a reverse osomosis, anti-bac, water

filtration system for my drinking water, and a water softener for the entire

home. There is no flouride in my drinknig water.

This is something for which I'll be doing some further research.

Thx.
