Hi Suzie,

Unless I pay out of pocket, which I can't afford right now, I don't think I can get a referral to a doctor in the States and it would be hard to get one for another province in Canada. Since it's been less than 48 hours, my family doctor has not received the report from the surgeon but understands how I feel about the way I was treated. He didn't really hesitate about the anti-depressant but wants to see me in a week (I was in so much pain physically and emotionally, that I forgot to make the appointment so I'll do that in the morning). I have felt depressed before of wishing I was in another place or body, but not too this point of not wanting to endure this pain another minute. Thankfully my husband was giving me a lot of support right now, in more ways than one and my family doctor is willing to help find some relief/solution so it's their hope and support that is keeping me going locally at the moment.

Thank you for your support. Every little bit is helping right now. Hope you get better from the flu soon.

Llweyn

Oh Llwyen...I am so sorry that you didn't have a good go at your appointment!! I don't understand his comment that you don't have true flatback because you aren't fused to the sacrum...what did he mean by that? How many cases a year does he see/do? Is it possible for you to go to one of the doctors that any of us have seen, I am sorry I am not up on the way that all works!!

About the weightloss...UGH! I feel your pain with that one! Have you ever heard of Medifast? Look it up online, who knows it might do the trick...my mom lost 92 pounds doing it. Just a thought! It sounds like you are going in the right direction calling your family doctor about the antidepressants and possibly increasing the Gabapentin as well.

I have to go I am battling the flu and need to rest my weary head....
