Guest guest
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>.. Hi, I'm new to this board and hope to get some good advice. I suspect that I've acquired a type of parasite or fungal infection in my intentines or colon about a month and a half ago. I've been trying to research the best and fastest type of treatment and was wondering what you might suggest. Thanks! >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> If you feel you have a parasite you could start by eating a parasite killer like pumpkin seeds which will also provide you good dietary fiber. You didn't note any specifics as to just what type of symptoms you're having so it would be pretty difficult to make any determinations from the thought you expressed. If you had a fungal infection it would more than likely be candida albican, which would leave you with various types of symptoms including mucous in the stools as well as potential anal redness and tendernesss from a yeast infection, which can be treated with over the counter medications for vaginal yeast infections. http://www.digitalnaturopath.com/cond/C7881.html Hopefully this will give you some idea of what to do. If your situation is candida then a short term of the Atkins diet would likely do you a lot of good as a quick cure to candida overage in the body. Granted it will work but there is one big drawback and that's the pain of the diet. The pain occurs with the dieoff of the organisms and causes other problems and discomfort for a few days. However a strict diet for two weeks can pretty much change things to get to a normal state again. I had done an Atkins like diet before I'd ever heard of Atkins diet to get rid of the symptoms that showed as candida around 15 years ago. I had read the book The Yeast Connection and felt I had all the signs of that problem, did as suggested and felt awful. So bad on one day that I couldn't stand or move to do my work. So, if you decide to try a low carb diet to see if yeast is the problem then just be mentally prepared for the reaction known as Herxhiemer syndrome. It is far better than garlic 'pills' and powder. from: http://www.mycustompak.com/healthNotes/Food_Guide/Garlic.htm Chronic candidiasis Garlic has demonstrated significant activity against the common yeast germ ( Candida albicans) in animal studies. Greater anti-candida activity has resulted from exposing candida to garlic than to nystatin, the most common prescription drug used to fight candida. No clinical studies of garlic in the treatment of candidiasis have yet been conducted. However, some doctors suggest an intake equal to approximately one clove (4 grams) of fresh garlic per day. This would equivalent to consumption of a garlic tablet that provides a total allicin potential of 4,000 to 5,000 mcg.
