verge of a transplant???

Hello,

Well, I had my 2nd liver biopsy a couple of weeks ago,

and my doctors said there is really no sign of

improvement in my condition. My prednisone has

already been increased to a level where the side

effects are getting bad and so my doctor doesn't want

to increase them anymore.

So before my doctor seriously considers transplant

options (i'm seeing a transplant team next week)...he

told me to stop taking imuran...in case it was

contributing to liver toxity. Then I'll have blood

tests to see if it has done any good. (which i'm

getting this weekend).

Quite frankly I'm scared to death of getting a

transplant. I've seen a few success stories on here,

but I would like to hear more...just to ease my mind.

If you don't want to post to the list, just e-mail me

privately at ldm_12@....

Also, has anyone else's doctor told them to stop

taking imuran when you're not responding to the other

meds. (btw, I'm also currently on 40mg Pred., 40mg

lasix [diuretic], 100mg aldactone [diuretic] and 900

mg ursodiol.)

And one more question :)

what the heck can i do to get rid of this belly

(ascites)?!?!?... i look like a freak when i look in

the mirror sideways...

Sorry for the " novel " ...but I don't post here often,

so when I do, it tends to be long. Thanks in advance

for any advice.
