Hi...hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving...

Yesterday I received my copy of the authorization letter

for surgery. I already knew it had been approved

but the letter was slow in arriving. Finally showed up

and I was reading it aloud to Bob as it has the whole

procedure listed. So I am reading along, spinal bone

autograft, spinal bone allograft, spinal bone allograft,

aumputate hand at wrist..revision of thorax spine...HUH!

Oh we laughed...who knew an amputation was involved in

spinal revision surgery!!!

Talk about having to read the fine print!

I had a question for Triwest too, so when we were finished

(they are just so nice), I asked if he had the procedure

list in front of him. Nope, so I read it to him. First time

I have had an insurance rep just roar with laughter. His advice,

please don't have the amputation done.

I thought it was worth a giggle and would pass it on!

Happy shopping!

hugs,

That's funny!! How in the heck did they put that in there? Maybe it's

a case of using a format on the form like they did for my lumbar CT.

One sentence or part of mine read " cervical spine " . I don't think

cervical and lumbar are the same!? They just forgot to delete that

part when they used the " form " .

Hi ,

Wow! Good thing it was on the pre-auth and not on tne doctor's

records-LOL! BUT... maybe ask doc if there is anything missing on the

preauth... like maybe they imput wrong procedure code, and that's how

they got amputation, instead of, maybe, anesthesia or something !!

Would not be good if they ended up not paying for something that was

omitted by their error. I am really excited for you, being so brave

and bold and going for it, girlie!

Wishing you the best! Hugs, Marty

I guess thats why the surgeon has to sign the part of your body they

are operating on.....so make sure you are awake enough to be sure she

doesn't sign your hand! Just kidding.

It's getting close now....wow.

Wishing you the best, Cam
