Guest guest
Vache I guess the brief answer to your question would be that most people consider " alternative " to be options other than drugs. Since Vermox is a prescription drug, that would explain why most people on this list aren't jumping at the chance to take it. Personally, although I want this stuff out of me (whatever might be in there), I would rather take a natural approach that might take a little longer, rather than put another prescription drug in my body that could have potential side effects and just be something else that needs to be cleansed from the liver. But I totally respect your right to choose to take it if you feel that is the best route for your body. That's one of the beauties of this list - many different approaches are available and discussed. My personal preference would to solely use dietary choices, but it does seem like it would take forever to do things that way, AND that it would eventually involve vast amounts of onion and garlic. Did you really mean $176.00 per pound, or was there a decimal point in the wrong place? The most I've ever paid for anything was for the ICF. I guess I'm not as anxious as others to get through this process. I figure that my health is fine now and I've lived with this stuff this long (whatever might allegedly be in there) and it doesn't bother me if it will take a while longer to remove it. I do realize that it's different for others who are dealing with serious health issues and need to step up the pace.

It's the same as any other list, though, that we need to take what we want and leave the rest. I think it would be easy to get caught up with every wave of information and every topic that comes up. I guess I'm just a little too laid back for that. I find much of it interesting, but I'm not going to go through radical changes for every new piece of information. Just because it's printed on a mailing list regarding health doesn't mean it's accurate, and it doesn't mean it's right for me. I'm content to take my measures toward improving my health, slowly and surely. It is interesting, though, isn't it? That's wonderful that you've been involved in holistic healing for so long. I wish I had gotten a much earlier start!!
Guest guest
Hmmm, according to what I've found on the Web, Vermox requires a prescription in the US (although i think it is over the counter in Mexico). Other drugs to look at are Antiminth, pin-x, and reese's pinworm. But I haven't found a website that sells them. Perhaps they are sold over the counter in your generic drug store. There are appear to be side effects with these drugs from what I can gather from the web though... (as with most things)... > Okay, so this IS a List for alternative health remedies, though if Medical Advise!
Guest guest
Zenalpha, if you are going to snip, quote & /or paraphrase anything I write do NOT make it appear to be anything other than what I actually wrote! It is very misleading & quite dishonest! I am very disappointed in you for having done such. Vache

Then what is to say the herbs you are buying are even of quality? Earlier this year I was ripped off on some goldenseal, at $176. a pound, that it ends up must have been long past its' prime:( Vache
Guest guest
I actually did take a few over the counter parasite drugs, not Vermox, but some others - and they didn't help because they didn't target my particular brand of worms. Anti-parasitic drugs are very toxic, so as to kill the worms/parasites. Sometimes it is a tough call whether it is worth it to take them - hope they kill the worms before they kill you. Without knowing exactly what worms you have, and sometimes (as with me) it is very difficult to get accurate tests, I think it is wiser to go the cleansing route. Learning about cleansing and natural, wholistic health has helped me scads more than any allopathic medicines! I used to be on tons of medicines, zantac, claritin etc. the Dr.s just kept adding more pills as I got worse, until I turned jaundiced......and almost went into a coma......the dr.s were still clueless.... >Okay, so this IS a List for alternative health remedies, though if >you KNOW you have worms running around inside your body why don't you >just get some Vermox & get it done & over with?! > >Call me crazy, though frankly I would simply rather get it over with > & kill the things, & not waste my body experimenting with what may >work on this issue. > > >Just My 2 Cents, >Vache >( & if your not smart enough to get vermox upon your own off the web, >well, maybe the worms already got to your brain, eh) > >Not A Doctor & Not Giving Medical Advise! -- * Health * Peace * Love * 4ever @..@ (----) ( >__< ) Ribbit
Guest guest
That is all good & well enough. I take it you live in the US? Full time? Not all of us have such the LUXURY! I have previously posted to the List the herbal blend I use when I am in the US. Though I can state for a fact when visiting, & /or LIVING abroad, I am not always able to bring many of these herbs into a country I may be entering, let alone acquire many of these herbs whilst there. The human body acquiring parasites in some of these countries is QUITE rampant/common. Rather than run around with parasites wrecking serious havoc I simply go to the grocery store & buy the chemical wormer off the shelf. I am not going to let my body suffer a worm infestation out of a sense of purity of not putting a chemical in my body. Anyone that takes the time to read this List knows I spend time abroad. I have been to 20 some odd countries thus far this life, living & /or just wandering through. In 2001 I was to 19 States, 4 countries, & spent over 2 months at deep sea; plus an extended trip through Panama Canal. (Stuck waiting in Balboa for several days, & then again on the Lake at the other end too. *sigh*) I do not even count going to Canada as being " out of the country, " my trips there have been so frequent. I was also to Mexico 2 or 3 times this year, another place I do not bother to count as " being out of the country. " Compared to other years, in some respects this could be considered a slow year for me too! Keep in mind, in many of these countries it would be illegal for you to bring Pepto Bismal into them, & you would have to get a prescription whilst there for a similar type " drug, " & then ferverently pray you could actually find a pharmacy that had it in stock & sell it to you, no matter how much you were willing to pay over the government controlled price for it. Now how many of you in the US think it should be illegal to buy Pepto Bismal off the shelf??? For years I have been able to buy Tylenol III off the shelf in Canada, & would be busted at the US border if I ever brought it back into the US w/o prescription! Heck, some countries I could not even take vitamins into, still in the bottle new, w/ an unbroken seal. It is all a matter of culture. Some countries care/trust more about helping their population get the worm thing under control. In some of these countries I will not even drink their bottled water for you can literally watch as they fill up these bottles out of the tap, cap them, & then try to sell them to you. Thank God I do have a sweet tooth so the carbonated beverages see me through to the next destination. Drink milk whilst there? Don't be ridiculous! Not unless I know the cow it is coming out of, see it come out of the cow myself, & then boil it myself. Your worried about a chemical wormer? I am more worried about the milk & no Pepto Bismal. Just My 2 Cents, Vache (remember, don't eat the lettuce either; & yes the wall really is made out of cow sh*t)
