yes.... i grind my own daily too.... i have real suspicion how any can be

sold and be in its 'fullest' form of nutrition when its been ground for some

time - even refrigerated, it loses a lot of value as days go by.

flax seeds do not 'break down' in the digestive system. You may take them

as you are for a 'scraper' of the colon... but they will 'pass' out in your

stools. Flax seeds are loaded with nutrients - not just oil. When you

grind them in the coffee grinder you are causing the seed to be brought to

the point where the body can 'assimilate' all the nutrients within that

hard, small seed. The only thing is, you must remember that the oil will

soon go rancid and the nutrients will lose their freshness within a day or

two after grinding. This is why we grind every day.

hope this helps

, for the sake of sounding stupid. What is the purpose or benefit of

grinding flaxeed. I take the seeds as they are, just put them in my oatmeal,

my blender, whatever.

Is the benefit greater if you grind them?

<< The only thing is, you must remember that the oil will

, this brings me to another question.

I also take flaxeed oil. What prevents that from getting rancid.Do they have

preservatives in it?

We soak ours for 24 hours then put then in the blender with

fruit or whatever. Kinda enchances all the nutrients.

You can, but due to the high oil content (55% or more) it's safer to

purchase the whole seed and grind them yourself. The flour is most likely

rancid by the time it gets to the store shelves.

I grind mine in a canning jar I put on the blender. Doesn't have to be fine

flour, just the shell of the seed broken.

someone else mentioned this already - but we buy Barleans' - i'm sure

there's others too - like Biosan - that date their oil and they have a

process that keeps the oil 'nutrient full'... www.barleans.com -
