It is hard to decide on surgerybut basically us post op revision folk fall into a few categories. First. Lot one, those who have revision want to move forward with life never look back and even though they may have pain they will never ever go on the boards and post it. They see it as a failure to have to go back on the boards and dicuss their personal life. they don't see it as helpful to others . they had their needs met and they move on. period. Lot two. they have surgery get good results and feel really good for the first two years come on the boards a few times after surgery to say how great they are doing stop posting and then when eventually the pain creeps up to its there and annoying everyday they too won't share back on the boards perhaps they get depressed and view it as their personal problems and failure/. Lot 3, those who have revision and don't do well after surgery and are burned out and can't cope with recounting the story of a traumatic surgery or life experience and they drop off from our existence. Lot 4, the lurkers.. they have had surgery not doing bad not doing great but are watching and waiting and just read on and compare themselves to the posts and silently suffer and then one day when the suffering becomes too great they post for help. lot 5, Those of us who from the beginning see it as a life process the good and the bad the trauma the joys and sadness and feel we need to share it with each other indefinitely so who ever lurks or joins on can gleem some information that may help them on their journey to revision or not. lot 6, intermittent blogs like me, who use to read every day but then I have so many things conditons going on I have to decide which fire to put out for now and post to who I need the immediate answers from. Right now its I need an SI Joint surgeon and fast. My si Joints hurt 7 months post revision 1999 and now 2006 exactly 7 years later i MUST get a surgeon and go under the knife. MY bowel nerve is being trapped more so then not by the inflammation of degraded sacro ilac joints. It sucks!! The next free joint after you are fused to the sacrum during revision if your doctor chooses such. Which there was a raging debate 4 years ago on whether to fuse to sacrum or not just because of si joint involvement..... i was unluckily fused to sacrum next free joint SI..they are not happy carrying the load for 8 years. My spine surgeon doesn't do sij thats a hip pelvic surgeon.. argh... now I have to weed out a new SIJ surgeon and pray he is good and the good SIJ surgeons are less say FOUR around the country then revision docs....I really don't want to go to GA!!! God Bless us All!
