Guest guest
Hello, just signed on to this group to ask a couple of questions... Yesterday my Grandmother was diagnosed with Diverticolitus... I'm sure with any disease, there are many varying extremes. Is Diverticolitus always concidered a " chronic " illness?, or is it curable? We haven't gotten many details pertaining to her condition, as of yet. I know her doctor has told her to lay off caffeine, and has prescribed for her some type of " sulfa " drugs (she says). She has been in a great deal of pain for the past 4 or 5 months, and I was wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction on learning more about this. Web-search engines have turned up with nothing, and heavy traffic on the net makes it difficult to sift through the 5500+ postings on this list. (So hopefully, I have your understanding if this has all been talked about before) She is one of my most favorite people on the planet, and it hurts me that she is in so much pain. (my eyes have teared -telling you this) Any advice is appreciated. ThanX in advance, -A worried grandson -ShaneX
Guest guest
Shane, My mother found out she had diverticulitis 32 years ago when one exploded and the infection was spread inside her cavity but luckily she was operated quickly and is still alive today although she has more diverticulis. I have a small one and the doctor told me to avoid nuts, rice and things that can get stuck inside the little bags. Don't feel too bad, if she takes care she will have no problem. The best is that she is aware of the problem. --- Shane X <shanex@...> wrote: > Hello, just signed on to this group to ask a couple > of questions... > > Yesterday my Grandmother was diagnosed with > Diverticolitus... > I'm sure with any disease, there are many varying > extremes. > Is Diverticolitus always concidered a " chronic " > illness?, or is it > curable? > We haven't gotten many details pertaining to her > condition, > as of yet.
