Guest guest
Hi Jonah... saw a few posts by you... just checking out this egroup too on water.... this is a BIGGIE for me... about 4-5 years ago I started to drink almost a gallon of pure water a day treated with minerals/ionic calcium/magnesium and colloidal silver. MAJOR changes took place!! one of which was i no longer had any hay fever type allergies... and at the time we lived in an avocado orchard - 2 x a year I was " HIT " with major pollen - but the water changed all that... also ... thought this might be interesting to someone: " ... Water suppresses the appetite naturally and helps the body metabolize stored fat. Studies have shown that a decrease in water intake will cause fat deposits to increase, while an increase in water intake can actually reduce fat deposits. Here's why: the kidneys can't function properly without enough water. When they don't work to capacity, some of their load is dumped onto the live. One of the liver's primary functions is to metabolize stored fat into useable energy for the body. But, if the liver has to do some of the kidney's work, it can't operate at full throttle. As a result, it metabolizes less fat, more fat remains stored in the body and weight loss stops. Drinking enough water is the best treatment for fluid retention. When the body gets less water, it perceives this as a threat to survival and begins to hold on to every drop. Water is stored in extracellular spaces (outside the cells). This shows up as swollen feet, legs and hands. Diuretics offer a temporary solution at best. They force out stored water along with some essential nutrients. Again, the body perceives a threat and will replace the lost water at the first opportunity. Thus, the condition quickly returns. The best way to overcome the problem of water retention is to give your body what it needs - plenty of water. Only then will stored water be released. If you have a constant problem with water retention, excess salt may be to blame. Your body will tolerate sodium only in a certain concentration. The more salt you eat, the more water your system needs to dilute it. But getting rid of unneeded salt is easy - just drink more water. As it's forced through the kidneys, it takes away excess sodium. Guest guest
I hardly used to drink any liquid throughtout the day, maybe only one or two cups of anything and certainly not water. Found out from reading various literature that I was making the mistake of confusing the signal for thirst and hunger. Yep, I was a compulsive eater!!! Now I usually drink about 4 pints of water per a day and can tell within a few hours if I'm starting to dehydrate. (I'm breastfeeding too so that highlights the need for liquid). I know this may sound strange, but if I 'forget' to drink enough, I'm reminded because my mood will suddenly swing to being seriously fed up/aggitated and will even out fairly shortly after a pint or two of water. This has proved the case on several occasions!!! I find the more water you drink, the more thirsty you become. It's like it motivates/awakens the body's natural need for water. So, yes I'd say it was very necessary. I just use filtered tap (live in the UK). ------------- > For those of you actively being healthy and > determined to stay that way, what are your > 3 greatest concerns about your Drinking Water? > Also do you consider drinking plenty of water > (6-10, 8oz glasses) as necessary maintenance > between cleansings? > > Thank you very much for your thoughts > > Tarr
Guest guest
!. That my water is free of chemicals like chlorine that could effect my immune system 2. That it's free from harmful bacteria. My water supply in this city runs short every summer, and they run very close to the bottom of the resevoir here. (read: bacteria!) 3. Free from metal toxins from polloution and city/house plumbing. Do you cleanse while you are nursing? If so what have you done and how has it worked? Namaste HerbalMomma
Guest guest
I worry about my water containing lead, fluoride, heavy metals and bacteria. Where I live, MI, they add new chemicals to the water it seems like every couple of years. Plus with the Big Three here I worry about the fumes and other residue form the Plants.
