I have been " diagnosed " with the same thing, although mine is called Chronic Inflammatory Liver Disease! I think it equates to the same thing. My biopsy showed cirrhosis, with 10+ years of very high liver enzymes every time I get " sick " (2-3 weeks of illness about 4-6x per year, itching, nausea, fever, the whole 9 yards). Anyway, my doc runs LPT's on me every time I get " sick " just to document it, but doesn't see a need for an annual biopsy. I am having an ERCP on 6/2 (hopefully, that'll help them figure out something). Anyway, my point is- no need for annual biopsies IMHO (in my humble opinion) unless he really starts becoming symptomatic (yellow, etc). But that's just me.
