Guest guest
Thanks everyone for your replies. Everyone is so great when support and a shoulder to cry on is needed. I'm going to check out a couple of other resources available in Canada and if I have to, I'll go to the media to add to the health care crisis story that they've been working on. I want to get the report and X-rays so that I have the facts in front of me before pursuing things too heavy-handed. As one person reminded me, I usually say that things happen for a reason, and it is possible that I need to get a few more things in my life in order before having surgery (re-prioritizing things). My family doctor has been great in getting me back on the anti-depressants and listening to my impression of the appointment. He wants to see what the report says before proceeding on any course. I think it was the first time that I have actually broken down and cried in his office, so he knows that the stress and pain has been a lot. My fears of the future and what it holds as to the quality of life and further permanent disability are still very real, but I will take it one step at a time and follow what I can to fulfill the surgeon's "requirements", as well as investigate other course of action. I have family in Ontario, if I have to go out of province and a lot of you have offered support if I have to go to the States. Just receiving this support has helped me get back on course, a lot faster, plus the support of my family. Llweyn
