Guest guest
Congratulations Cheryl! It sounds like you had a wonderful weekend. Sometimes just having a date night (dinner & and movie) with just the two of you can feel like a honeymoon. My husband and I are planning a weekend for our anniversary Aug. 21 - NYC and tickets to Caberet on broadway - we will even stay overnight if I can find a sitter who can stay over - unfortunately my Mom lives near Boston - not close enough to babysit. And to honest, is having a hard time being around her right now because she can be kind of critical and makes comments all the time - its just how she is and I don't even hear half of what she says anymore - I am very good at tuning it out - but poor has " 0 " tolerance for it and gets upset and into " storm " mode very quickly. Cheryl - where in CT do you live? We live in Norwalk in Fairfield County, and before that we lived in Madison from 1993-1996. Guest guest
Hi Cheryl, Thanks for sharing your story. I loved that you looked at it so with so much humor! We all need that humor and you have reminded me that I could use a little time away too. It is so true how clever, not to mention dramatic, our children can be. I say hooray for you, you fought the odds and had a good time. Now you are my inspiration . Guest guest
Hi everyone well I finished my first 12 week challenge and did my measuring and all today. I must admit I did get a slow start the first couple of weeks but got into it as the days went on. I lost a total of 36 1/2 inches 20 punds of fat and gained 8 punds of muscle. I went from wearing a tight size 24 to a 18. I am feeling a lot better but still have a lot more fat to lose and will keep going on the program till I can join the 1st challenge of next year. I wish I had of found this group when I first started but I am glad I found yall and will have yall to talk to while I work toward reaching my goals. Thanks forall the help. Guest guest
Sharon, you did GREAT!!! And just think, before long you will be able to go into any store and buy any cloths you want! That is my real goal. I'm sick and tired of having only ugly cloths to choose from (Unless I go to Layne , and pay twice as much). Keep up the great work. Guest guest
Congratulations. You may want to take Dr. Life's advice and take a week off of training while you celebrate, set your goals, and plan for your next round. This will help you come back renewed and avoid burn-out. Great job! Kit :=) -----Original Message-----From: SKLOSEE@... [mailto:SKLOSEE@...]Sent: Sunday, October 15, 2000 8:52 PMbodyforlifeegroupsSubject: Re: I DID IT!!!! Guest guest
Thanks Barbara I know what you mean about buying clothes you cant find pretty ones unless you go to the special stores like Layne and there stuff cost so much. I have bought a lot of there stuff over the years out of the catalog I cant wait to be small enough to shop in any store for the size I wear. That was one of my big goals too to get out of these plus size clothes. Keep up he great work and you will be in the smaller sizes soon. Guest guest
Hi Lil yea I will start another 12 weeks today well really 11 weeks to get me through this year then join the 1st challenge of next year in Jan. I was gonna take a week off but then decided with holidays coming up I would have days where I didnt stick to the program faithfully so I didnt need a full week off. I cant wait to see how I do with holidays and all to deal with and how many inches I can lose through it all. I will keep you informed on how I manage through the end of the year. Guest guest
Hi Helen, The first time around, just thinking about doing it can make you feel nervous and unsettled. At least that's how I felt. I'm glad it went so well for you. Yea!!! It does get easier each time, until you all of a sudden find yourself feeling very prepared and able, and it's no longer a stressful event. I'm really glad felt just fine afterwards. Great job! Guest guest
I don't want you all to think I am bragging...I am not...I am crowing!!! We are away on our winter vacation at Stratton and after the first day of sitting around feeling a little sorry for myself that I couldn't ski, a girlfriend that is also here suggested we go snow- shoeing. Well, yesterday we clamped on our show shoes and grabbed our poles and started up the mountain...intending to take the beginner trail upwards to a point where we could meet up with the kids and hubby's skiing down. It was one of those bright blue days with crisp white snow that makes you ache because it is so pretty out. We got up to our " meet-up " point and enjoyed watching the kids come down, caught our breaths...and decided to go for the summit and then a return ride down on the gondola. I told Barb I wouldn't set any world records going up..but slow and steady won the day and about 2- 1/2 hours after leaving the bottom we had climbed 1800' feet to the top!!!!! Needless to say, when I reached the top I had a smile a mile wide. I also was reminded that when one door closes, another often opens...and I now feel I have found a fun way to share winter with my family. I enjoyed slowly going up, and stopping to admire the view and the company of a good friend to chat with almost as much as I ever enjoyed whizzing down the hill. And lets face it...as everyone ages that skis or snowboards...there is that moment where most folks decide the risk of a fall outweighs the risk of the thrill of the downhill ride. I have just come to that a little earlier than most. Before this week I didn't realize how stable the shoes are with their big prongs that grab the snow, and with poles along there was never a moment that I felt unsafe or unsteady. Of course I was on tracked snow, and I have heard that it is more difficult to track though places that are not packed down....but for now I will be sticking to the easy and safer going. Just wanted to share. There is life after revision and much of it be good...it just takes some accomodation, and maybe changed expectations. If you are wondering, the only thing that is sore on me this morning are the tendons behind my knee....I guess from lifting my legs a little higher than usual to step up the slope of the hill. Today I will probably stick to the pool and hot tub...but who knows, maybe tomorrow a little more " shoeing " before we leave!
