Re: Tyler...back in the hosp

Hi all...well we just can't seem to stay away...he is back in the hosp again and not very happy about it...

He has a mouth full of sores...very painful...but they are not sure what they are ...don't look like the normal canker sores...

He is running temps again...

and his feet are extremely painful...can't walk...Ty has vasculitis...has had since he was a freshman and really even earlier than that. He can't tolerate his legs hanging or standing or walking..

I had called the hosp to speak to the GI fellow on call...to see if we could get something to help with his mouth...It just so happen that when we got the GI fellow and told him who we were ...he knew us and Ty's doc is the attending on this weekend...so he got on with us right away...When I told him what was going on with Ty he said to bring him in and plan on staying...Ty had to go upstairs to get dressed and get ready to go...I went up to him to find him sitting on the side of his bed....crying...he was in so much pain just getting up there...and trying to get dressed....He is back on antibiodics ..3 of them and they did lab work and took some scrapings of his mouth...

They want to figure out what is going on with his mouth and why the temps...although they may never be able to pin point that...With everything being systemic that alone can cause fevers....

Rhuematology will see him on monday and they will try to figure out what to do about his pain....feet....

Right now I have one very unhappy 18 yr old on my hands....and he has a very stressed out mom....

Goodness gracious, this poor boy. Man, I bet hes sick of being sick. I have

an 18 year old too. I love teens, I raised my two and some of thier friends.

Ide love to talk to him if he wants to through E-mail. Kids always come to

me for help. Also, E-mail me Luanne, I want to ask you something ok?

Thanks for writing was nice hearing from you. You and Ty have much to handle.

I wish there was some magic to allow Ty to have some normal life. I know from

sitting the hospital myself, how long and boring and painful it can be. But

for a young guy he has the right to be frustrated and sad. Take care.

I do hope they can figure out what they can do for Ty. My heart goes

out to him. I can't imagine the frustration that you all must be

experiencing with all this, especially since you are having to deal

with multiple things at one time. Keeping you all in my prayers and

thoughts..

Luanne,

Please send Tyler love from the girls and I. I would love to send him

something, if you remember ask him who a favorite band of his is and I

will see if I have something around here from them. As always you and

I am so sorry to hear about Ty. He is too young to be going through all

this (not that anyone deserves it). I wish there was something that I could

do for you and Ty. When was he first diagnosed? I just feel so bad for you

Hi Luanne:

Concerned after reading your e-mail about Tyler. Hopefully, soon they will

diagnose it correctly and give Tyler proper medication. I feel bad that he

is having all these complications. Thanks for sharing.
