Guest guest
Hi Carol When I saw DR Hu last year I stayed at the Best western in J town! The room was only 69 dollars a night! WE were only about 2 miles from her office so please check it out! I will look tonight for the exact name for you!

Guest guest
Hi Carol... Coming up Highway 1 is, by far, the most enjoyable way to get to UCSF. Unfortunately, Hwy 1 is closed in several places at the moment, so that may not be possible. The only other way for you would be to come up Hwy 101. It's a pretty boring drive. The parking lot is right next door to the doctor's office, and directly across the street from the hospital entrance. Guest guest
That is fantastic!!! I am so happy for you. To get that call back so quick! WOW! Just a note on the parking....its very expensive, so when your at the booth where you pay, be sure to hand them your handicap placard and there will be no charge. There is a very itty bitty sign telling you this when you pull in, but too easy to miss. Like we did the first time! Again....yah!!!! > > I got a phone already today from UCSF to call back and make an > appointment!! I was surprised!! I only saw the dr. last week, and > it's one day shy of one week. Guest guest
Is this in SF? I didn't know what you meant by " I " town. Thanks. I'll look into it. Which direction do you come from? I will be coming from the south, and was wondering which freeways were the best to take into the city. I found out my app't is on July 17th @ 11:15 AM. Guest guest
My appointment was scheduled for Mon., July 17th @ 11:15 AM. The first date Dr. Hu had was July 5th, but my husband is not off work that day. This is the first day of his vacation, so that worked out pretty good. I told ann that either Dr. Hu or Berven was fine-- whoever had the first app't. available, so I guess Dr. Hu did. Three months--that isn't too bad is it for an app't.???? We'll be coming up Highway 99 (since we live on it) and then going on 152 through Los Banos, then I wasn't sure whether to continue north on I-5, and then go through Livermore, but then you'd probably have to go over the Bay Bridge, and I understand the commuter traffic on it is INSANE. maps suggests we take 152 to 101 and then take I- 380 West to San Bruno, then take I-280 north to San Francisco, then it has specific info. about the surface streets in SF. It will be an experience, but neither of us have been up there in over 25 yrs. Is the hospital real close to Golden Gate Park? Within walking distance? Are there any restaurants nearby worth eating at? Any stores? Someone suggested a Best Western not far from the hosp that's under $75 a night. That would be nice. Guest guest
Carol... The directions you got from are correct. UCSF is within walking distance to GG Park, although it's a bit of a hike. BurgerMeister at 86 Carl St. has fabulous hamburgers. For fine dining, try Eos at 901 Cole St. Park Chow at 1240 9th Ave. is good for casual dining. -- > > My appointment was scheduled for Mon., July 17th @ 11:15 AM. Guest guest
Thanks for the info. I plan on gathering some more info about travel routes and motels in the next few months. I asked two people from work who go to SF all the time, and one takes the 101 route, and the other goes I-5 to 580 and over the Bay Bridge. He seems to think that's FASTER than the other way. (but he has kids who live in Walnut Creek) He takes the BART over to SF to visit for the day and takes buses, etc to get around. We will have the car, so hope it's not too hard to find places to park. It sounds like the hosp has a parking garage, so I guess that's fairly easy. Do you live in SF? I was wondering if lived in SF, too? Carol > > > > My appointment was scheduled for Mon., July 17th @ 11:15 AM. Guest guest
Thanks for the info. Do you live in or near SF? I checked online about this hotel, and the current prices listed are $89-$189 per night. Do you know if the $75 is still possible thru some discount site like Travelocity or Expedia or something like that?? Do you know if they charge a fee to park in the hotel parking lots? A guy at work is going up there this weekend for the Giants game, and he said his motel (which is nearer the ballpark) charges $30 per day to park in their parking lot!!! Even if I could get this for $75, would they charge another $30 to park? I hear parking in the city is at a premium and the charges are very high for parking lots and garages. Guest guest
Carol... Neither or I live in SF. Going via the East Bay would definitely be out of your way, especially because you'd have to get across more than half of SF on surface streets. If you take 101 to 380 to 280 north to Hwy 1 north, you're 5-10 minutes from the hospital. -- > > > > > > My appointment was scheduled for Mon., July 17th @ 11:15 AM.
