Hi ette! Nice to hear from you and brava to your milestone of 2 years!! Way to go!! Its always great to hear from someone with more time invested in the process...especially when they are doing so well!! Thank you for the encouragement!! Hope you have a great day! Suziepaulettep3 <paulettep11@...> wrote: Hi everyone: I thought I'd post about my 2 year post op appt. with Dr. LaGrone. For those of you who don't know me, I had anterior/posterior revision surgery (same day), fused from T9 to sacrum, with total removal of harrington rod (one osteotomy, 2 cages). I thought I was going to have a brace after surgery, but turned out I didn't need one, much to my surprise. However, the loose clothing I purchased still came in handy, as I had

stomach protrusion for a few months. My age is 55. Xrays look great, everything healing well. My alignment if perfect (from flatback perspective). Muscle tightness in legs is an ongoing challenge, but as long as I keep doing exercises for legs, arms and abs, I'm in good shape, actually better shape then I've been in years. I'm very serious about doing my exercises, and it's paid off! Dr. LaGrone OK'd 3 weeks of PT, 3x/s weekly, so that hopefully I can learn something new to add onto my routine. Next appointment, one year!I'm thinking of everyone who's undergoing surgery, and those who are new to the rehab process. It's a long journey, but well worth it for me. I can say I have absolutely no regrets, and still am amazed to have my knees straight and be able to look up and not down!Enjoy your day. ettescoliosis veterans * flatback sufferers * revision candidates

ette, Thank you, thank you, for posting an update. Perhaps others

will read your post and also add in their " happy endings " stories.

I am building up the courage for a second revision, next year

hopefully, and love to read ANY and ALL good news regarding surgery

results. Take care, Marty

Great to hear from you ette - glad you are doing well! I'm 6 months

post op and still in a good amount of pain - pain patch and 2 percocet a day

but I know it is surgical pain, not the awful pain I was in pre-surgery.

This will get better. My legs still ache, but I too exercise. I do the

stationery bike and bend up and down to get on the floor either for the

animals or my 2 year old. My daughter also loves to take walks so that

keeps me moving too!

Hi - yes I'm doing better. I've seen an improvement since my general

doctor dropped my Fentanyl patch from 50 mcg. to 25 mcg. I am taking 3

percocets a day - but my energy is definitely better. I'm taking more long

stroller rides with Jill. I do get tired by the end of the day but I'm able

to really manage around the house pretty good. I have Jill involved in a

play group that meets once a week and we go to a Mommy and me play class

once a week that is sponsored by the county. She has so much fun. I just

convince myself that I can only get better every day. So far it has been

173 days.
