Guest guest
Oh, dear, . What a day you've had! Thank God indeed! Talk to you soon... Sharon [ ] emerg room Hi all-I spoke to Dr Glazer's office today about the numbness in my hand, foot and face on the left side. Though they could understand the left hand and foot due to post surgical stress, they could not understand the left side of my face numbing and sent me to the emergency room. Luckily, I had an awesome physician who pushed and pushed to get me through. I had a CAT scan, which showed inflammed sinuses but no fluid. I had blood tests. Then after a consult with my PCP and Dr Glazer's office, they decided on an MRI of my neck and head. I had a panic attack in the middle of the MRI but the guys said the major scan was done and there were two 3 minute intervals and walked me through it. Bottom line, I guess, the concern was blood clots. There were no clots, no nerve damage, no bone damage in my neck whatsoever. What they found was fluid, after all in the left sinus cavities and decided the inflammation was causing the numbing in my face. An antibiotic and nasal spray later I am home, in six hours. (By the way a MRI around here has been known to be days if not weeks.) This lady, pushed hard because they all feared clots. Well, hopefully the antibiotic works. I have to check in tommorrow and again on Sat. so my plans for Maine are out the window but thank God, I am alive
Guest guest
, That must have been a scary day all around...first the numbness and fears about clots and then an MRI. Yikes. So I am guessing this is still related to that bad cold/infection you had shortly after you got out of the hospital? Imagine how good you are going to feel when they finally get this infection cleared up....if you have been fighting this all along! Hoping you are really getting well now, Cam
Guest guest
Cam, I could feel the levaquin starting to work right off, loosening stuff up but the nasal spray, yuck, made me sick. Well, I feel sicker but I guess that means I am getting better? They say the original infection did not clear with the Z-pack and I am allergic to penecillin so we will see if this works. i won't be having another MRI to see if it has cleared though!! Thanks for asking. > > , > > That must have been a scary day all around...first the numbness and > fears about clots and then an MRI. Yikes. Guest guest
, My, how frightening, but very nice to know the docs and techs, etc. were really on top of things and caring. You must be very relieved to have some answers. Here's to a quick, uneventful recovery. Guest guest
Bonnie, Thanks for the well wishes. We were pleasantly surprised even if I feel absolutely rotten. > > , > > My, how frightening, but very nice to know the docs and techs, etc. were really on top of things and caring. Guest guest
Hi Kim, I sent you an email to your AOL account. I managed to take my son to a birthday party. The numbness in the face comes and goes. I am hoping tomorrow the antibiotic will finally start breaking things up in there. Thanks for asking, > > > In a message dated 6/17/06 4:20:08 PM, vclark@... writes: > > > > Thanks Kim, I hope the antibiotic works too. > > > > Are you feeling any better today? > > Kim >
