Guest guest
Dear Ladies and Gents, After my long post yesterday about hurt feelings I thought I'd add a point. We all have to be mindful of where others are in the group. Words can be reacted to in various ways depending on circumstance, many here are in pain, recovering from surgery, have a level of depression, or are on medication, and words that normally wouldn't seem harsh can come accross that way. Part of our conversation always entails subjects that can be interperated one way or another, but we have to be mindful of anothers opinion, even if it differs from ours, as valid. I think we should be able to express our thoughts, and even if you don't agree with it, be able to express that but in language that is not hurtful, tricky I know. I felt this week we kinda got off track, and people were hurt all around, and thats not what we are about. I certainly don't want anyone to remove themselves from the conversation or the group over this. The basis of this group is to be a warm place for people to be while contemplating surgery, recovering, and for those like me to be of help since I'm years beyond surgery. I think on most days we are those people. So now I'll get off my soap box, lets remember to be kind to one another, as for many of us this group is where we truly have someone's who "GET" what we are going through, and this should be a place of support for them to land. All you guys are important to me and the group, and I want no one feel unappreciated, you all make this place what it is, and why I come back each day to be a part of it! Guest guest
HI all, I agree with . The simple fact that if you are visiting this forum means you probably find comfort among others that have had revision or are going to. It is a place to find emotional support that says, " we understand " and mean it. We seek knowledge and advise from others here. We really only want what is best for one another and we need to have faith and trust that the other person has done their homework and are making the best decision possible for themselves. If however, we do question a decision being made it is not because we do not think your smart enough to make the right decision but you could possible be making an uninformed decision. I have seen entries by people who have already scheduled surgery with a local ortho, who has no experience with flatback or revision and through this forum have backed off from their decision to do homework and research to make a better move for their life. SsssOoooo, if by some chance an entry seems harsh, we are sorry, we love your intelligence, we just don't want to see anybody get hurt. Take it with a grain and keep posting.
