Guest guest
Actually, Chicago is another possibility for a place that is relatively centrally located; however, I am not sure if we have any group members in that area. If we get enough people, perhaps we can get a block of rooms set aside at a discount, like people do for weddings.I suggest that we all think about this and then have a vote on where to go, majority wins. Let's say voting begins now and ends April 10th? This is just an idea. Any thoughts? And where in Florida? Ft. Myers? Naples? Disneyworld? Guest guest
Dear Bonnie, Excellent ideas for our get together. I could go to either Vegas or St. Louis with pretty cheap flights. After the year I've had with extended family stuff and deaths, I'd love a break and to meet everyone. Booking a bank of rooms would be great, we may have to do it on different floors since some may smoke or have husbands that do. If we go to Florida I'd love to see disneyworld, never been there, West coast girl. Anything I can do to help scope things out, I'm a stay at home Mom and have some computer skills. If we get enough people together it might pay to consult a travel agent, they can put together great packages, the one from my husbands work has in the past put trips together for us at rates we couldn't touch, and they know the areas, I especially think Florida. I wonder if everyone plans to bring their mates? Re: [ ] LAS VEGAS or Florida Hi Kathleen. How are you doing? Any new news? Guest guest
Hi , Great! Are we two now the committee to look into accommodations once we know where we're going? Anybody else have any special knowledge, want to help out? I'd be happy with just the two of us or one more maybe making a committee of three; IMO, more than that would be too many cooks in the kitchen. But anybody with ideas or suggestions, bring it on! Guest guest
Hi Bonnie... I'm on the Bellagio customer email list and get emails 5-6 times a year with special rates (usually $149 or $159 a night with a complementary upgrade to a Lake View room) on Sunday through Thursday during their off season. This may be a lot for some, but it's a really fabulous hotel with wonderful beds (something about which I'm always concerned when I travel). I haven't tracked when these rates are available, but I do have some of the old emails which show these rates from: 11/20-11/30 12/11-1/22 1/2 1/8-1/11 1/15-1/16 1/22-1/23 1/30-2/1 2/5-2/7 2/27-3/1 Unfortunately, these emails only arrive a month or two prior to the promotions. Regards, > > Hi , > > Great! Are we two now the committee to look into accommodations once we know where we're going? Anybody else have any special knowledge, want to help out? Guest guest
Has any one called the hotel and ask about a group rate? You don't have to book anything they will just sometimes give you a discount and a code for people who book to use so they get the same discount. I don't think anything would be doabe for us this year with all we have going on, but I just thought I would give a suggestion. Jolynn > > > > Hi , > > > > Great! Guest guest
Jolynn and Group.... You are right that we may be able to book a block of rooms and get a somewhat better price...however, the very first thing the hotel is going to ask Bonnie and is how many rooms we need....hence the survey! They will also ask if we want a meeting room to go along with the rooms...and a few other things. So that is why I made up the survey so we can see about how many may think they would like to attend. As of this morning only 22 members out of 137 have taken the 2 minutes to fill it out!! So everyone, in the spirit of helping to plan...please quickly visit this site...it is very easy and includes a choice saying you don't think you will attend. That way we can account for as many members as possible and start to shop hotels. So again, here is the link....please fill out: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.asp?u=412341912399 FYI: right now Las Vegas is #1, Boston #2. It looks like the sentiment is in favor of a two night stay...price ranges tied between $75-100 and $100-150. The number of folks that would like to share indicate that those that wish to share should be able to find a partner. Cam > > Has any one called the hotel and ask about a group rate?
