Guest guest
I just wanted to thank again for the wonderful idea of mentoring! While it is so wonderful (and invaluable!) to email people on this group and get a variety of responses, it's also so nice to be able to talk to someone on the phone as well. And a big thank you to Sharon for calling me a couple of times already before my surgery I know that after my surgery, it will also be so comforting to know that someone out there will call me to check on things, regardless of whether or not I can get online Before I talked to my surgeon at last Tuesday's pre-op appointment, I talked to his nurse for about 45 minutes. She absolutely loved all of the questions that I had typed up, since many people try to keep them in their head (and forget to ask them all). I told her about the online flatback group full of newbies & veterans, and she said how wonderful that resource was. She commented how prepared I seem because of all the info I had learned here. She also warned that many people feel anxious/depressed/disappointed right around the 3month mark because they've hit a plateau and they are not physically rebounded to where they had hoped to be at that point. But I had already learned that from you guys here! So thanks again for the mentoring and all the help here!
Guest guest
Hi , Your welcome. My best hope is not only a successful surgery and a great recovery for you. I know Sharon pretty well and she is sweet and caring. The best thing is to be able to say, I feel this twinge or am reacting to this medication. It is so great to have someone to talk to and help decipher if something is " normal " or not. My greatest hope that is when you are 6-8 months out you will volunteer to adopt a newbie through the process. It helps so much with the emotional process it drags us through. Good luck and God be with you.
