Guest guest
Geri, I am mouse shopping. What is an Intellimouse and what are it's advantages? I think it would be safe here because I don't have a cat. Roxanne
Guest guest
Roxanne, I have a Logitech intellimouse and love it. Mine has a wheel for scrolling that I wouldn't do without. My daughter has gotten hooked on it and says we need to buy her one before she moves back out in the fall. That is the only advantage I know of other than it has a side button for clicking but I don't ever use that. Barb/FL Re: [ ] Intellimouse? > From: CREE8V1@... > > Geri, > > I am mouse shopping. Guest guest
Yes it is, is that different from the intellimouse? Sorry, not up on all the new-fangled things you can plug into the computer these days!!! Guest guest
Barbara, Sorry it took some time to get back to you, I've been outside working on the house; had a burst of energy - put it to good use. I haven't even put a dent in the honey-to-do list - at least the best half is happy. She's happy that I'm still able to do things, worried when I push it to far, and provides excellent moral support when the fatigue sets in. I have found my saint & angel. They refer to a lot of logitech mice as intelimouse, they do defer. But I will say - you have the cadillac of MICE. I have the same MouseMan Wheel; and that wheel function - it allows me to scroll to my hearts content. I went to www.pricewatch.com to check the prices and ended up buying through their list of suppliers. Mine is using the USB port @ $37. vs retail $50.00. I couldn't go wrong. You made a very smart choice, now if it could cook - I could get out of the kitchen - naaaaa - I like cooking. So you and your family have a great holiday. Take car Rocco/CT Re: [ ] Intellimouse? > > > > > > > > > > From: CREE8V1@... > > > > > > > > Geri, > > > > > > > > I am mouse shopping. Guest guest
Roxanne, Angie's mouse killing days are history! I bought a shield for the cables and cords behind the computer. I bought a dirt cheap mouse awhile back when my old one bit the dust. It was totally unsatisfactory for a lot of reasons so I decided to get one of the new generation of mouses (or are they called mice?) I've heard good things about both Logitech and the MS IntelliMouse, but I was able to buy mine at a US Army base exchange and selection was limited (and I might have saved a few dollars.) I don't know what the others do, but mine has hands-free scrolling and can be set to scroll at any speed I select, up, down or sideways. Also, it has the option for one click vs. double clicking. However, Windows 98 also gives you that option so I wasn't won over by that feature. Since I have Win 98 and Office Pro 97 I figured that MS would probably be the most compatible with the rest of my system. Now I need to find a decent keyboard but I don't want to spend $100.00. Any ideas? Hey, without our keyboards, we wouldn't be here, would we? Take care, Geri
Guest guest
Hi Kept seeing all of the mouse questions and now the keyboard. Thought maybe I could help. I need help too!!!! I had microsoft intellimouse and liked it, especially the hands free scrolling. It did everything I wanted. But then, as a gift, I received a touchpad. It's the Cirque Power Cat one. It's spoiled me. You don't have to move your wrist or arm, just one finger on the pad wherever you want the pointer to go. You can program it to do different functions with just a tap or slide of your finger in certain areas of it. Also hands free scrolling. They cost around 50 to $80 depending on which model you get. No more than the intellimouse. As far as keyboards, I like the natural keyboard. Shaped more to the natural way your wrist and hands lay on the keys. Very comfortable. Supposed to be good for anyone with corporate tunnel syndrome. They are also under $100. Mine was about $80, but that was almost 3 years ago. Sorry to be getting off of the subject, but I would like to be able to do photo quality prints. I have a HP 694C printer with photo cartridge (which helps) and a Canon FB 620P scanner. Even on photo paper I still do not get a smooth looking picture. They're good, but faces still have a grainy texture. Don't know if I need a different printer or scanner or maybe both. Can't really afford these " toys " but at least I can have a wish list. I love photography and people are starting to ask me more and more to do enlargements, repair old photos, ect. Right now I'm working on someones great grandmother picture which is 250 years old. Cracks and stains, it's a real challenge. Have any suggestions? Thanks and take care Joy Re: [ ] Intellimouse?
