Guest guest
Sorry to say, but cramps as well as aches and pains go along with liver disease....the same as itching and fatigue. I have noticed though that I have cramps when I have not been paying attention to my fluid intake. So.if I go chugged a couple glasses of water it helps a lot! Do not know..but, I would bet it is from the toxins building up in our bodies...and drinking plenty of fluids helps to flush them out. i do no nor have I ever taken prednisone..so not that. Also, I want to mention another important thing. Whe I was at my doctors today he told me that the most important time of day to be sure to take your propranolol (lowers the blood pressure0 is before bed. For that is when the pressure increases in the varices and why so many people have major bleeds in bed. So.those of you who only take it once a day.please take it at bedtime. I personally take it 3 times a day... Joanne C. (PBC), ~*~*~ List Moderator for LIVERSUPPORT_L Digest http://pbcers.org
Guest guest
Joanne, Increasing daily fluid intake to help alleviate the cramps and pains of liver disease may have helped you, but at end-stage liver disease, I was on a limited fluid intake. I could only consume 4 cups of liquid per day due to severe ascites (and water was prohibited!) So increasing fluid intake might not be feasible for everyone. Bonnie P.
