Guest guest
Hi , It's so very good to hear from you, and to hear you sounding so good and so upbeat! It sounds like you are doing wonderfully, despite that fall! That must have been frightening. I bet that without even realizing it, you fell in such a way as to protect your back. I've done that twice over the years. Once, I ended up with a broken shoulder and the other time with a concussion. The first time, all my weight landed on my shoulder, with no aches or pains anywhere else. And the second time, I fell from a standing position onto my head with not a scrape anywhere else. The doctors were amazed and were certain that I landed the way I did to protect my back. So, take care, take it slow and recover well. Here's wishing you an absolutely wonderful new year! And the same wish for everyone else. Bonnie [ ] Is there a second 'line' to the jiggety jig thing? Hi everybody. Hope this is finding you all doing well. I did read justa few posts before deciding to say hi.Bonnie, they send me home from the hospital with the methadone for pain. Works wonderfully. In fact its just about time for my next dose,so will get all the little things done (potty, nice cool drink) because I know I got a nice nap coming up quickly! I had adjusted to all meds ok, thank goodness.Well, I did do something reallllly reallllly stupid yesterday. Scared the absolute crap out of me, thank heavens for calm and intellgent husbands.I was turning to sit in my rocker. A huge oldfashioned wood thing. NIcely rounded on all edges, hard to scoot and move. Wellll, as I was sitting, I seem to miss the chair, reached for Bob, he reached for me,now this is the strange part, as I went down, I was wrapped and slowely rolled to my right side (just like in the hosp bed when it was time for a roll~over) my head was tucked to the side also, it was a slowmotion thing which all falls seem to be in. When all is said and done, yes I fell. My head was turned to the exact angle so I missed the low brick hearth on the fire place. I went down so slowly there was no damage. I knoow so many will jump in here and say Well Just How do You know that? I just do. Here I sit, the only thing hurting is where my brace hits on the outside of my butt. I'm sorry, well not really, but I did thank some guardian Angels that I feel had quite the hand in my saftety that day. it did pound the fact in, never never get out of bed without my brace on. and Bob will not leave my side until I am seated. My stitches will be coming out next week. Thank goodness. Also will get my hair taken care of in the next couplde days. It did not fare well. But its ok. New Body, New Hair do! (just not gonna hide behind it anymore I guess. Its time for meds, guess I should go, Also I am expecting a call from any moment, well as soon as she reads this!Love you all....and yes I am ok!Guess even thought xmas is passed, Tiny Tim's saying still sufficies,God Bless us Every One. Guest guest
Miss , So good to know you are home. While Christmas in the hospital is not ideal, I can tell you that this (2006) holiday season has been one of the most special and meaningful of my entire life. I have avoided sweating the small stuff completely and my heart is full of gratitude and joy because I KNOW that it could be worse. The most significant things in life are the toughest and without a doubt, worth the trouble. Hang in there and please don't fall any more! Love, kam
Guest guest
Hi , Yes there is...its from a childrens rhyme called "To Market" (which you will NOT be doing any time soon!): To Market To market, to marketto buy a fat pig.Home again, home againJiggity jig! To market, to marketto buy a fat hog.Home again, home againJiggity jog! I am sorry to hear about your fall. I hope that is was just one of those learning experiences where you come away with a new resolve to be extremely careful for the next 3-4 months. On the other hand...they really do screw those implants in there pretty well....so hopefully you are correct and no harm was done. I think you will agree that the new "body style" does take some getting used to! Glad you are getting settled in. Take Care, Cam
