Guest guest
Hi Phyllis, Congrats on the weight loss and getting on the list. I'll be bringing myself to the picnic but Randy won't be coming.....he has to work. He works more now since he retired than before he retired.LOL This new job is kicking his butt. When are you and Mickey coming to see us???? I know Randy would love to show Mickey every golf course in North Texas. Sorry to hear about your accident.....what am I going to do with you and ?!?!?!?!?!? Always falling and breaking bones!!!!!!! Can't wait to see you and Mickey at the picnic. Love, Genz~~~on the 8 month plateau from Hell!!!! MGB 5-31-00 249/176~~~~gained 5 pounds :-( > Genz and whomever else > Mickey wants to know if anyone is playing golf on Saturday before the picnic. > If they are he would like to play but needs the early tee time so he can > get thru fast. It takes him a long time to play all those strokes. He likes > to blam it on me but I want be playing then. My golf is like my weight > slow moving. But I generally get to the 18th hole sooner or later and figure > I will loose the rest of this weight sooner or later too. Guest guest
Genz- Woops I didn't see this reply until after I answered the other one. Well you will definetly see more of Mickey. He has gained a lot of what I lost. He is working a lot also. But mostly he is fishing and golfing. We are going to the Dr.today because he has hurt his knee and he complains that he can't walk. Well I know how those knees can hurt. I went golfing in Georgia last weekend and it took us 6 hours to play 18 holes. Of course I got my money's worth and got to hit as many times as the law allowed. I say I was on the driving range and just hitting the ball. On about the 2 nd hole I dropped the wood I was taking out of the bag right on my head and got a goose egg. I never knew golf was so dangerous. Phyllis
Guest guest
Dear Elaine and Dianne, Thanks for the question about golfing after surgery. We are a golfing family and that was one of my concerns also. Dianne, thanks for putting our minds at rest that we will be able to play once again. I'm sure our swings won't look the same! Take care, Terry
Guest guest
A few weeks back there was question of protocols for golf and brain trailing. In the book "Perception, Cognition, and Decision Training" by Joan Vickers PhD a researcher in gaze control and motor behavior in sport since 1980 at the University of Calgary. It describes the "Quiet-Eye training" or gaze control in the various sports golf, basketball, billards, biathlon etc. There is a description of sequencing of the mental operations in the brain during the put. There are no protocols. I am just 1st time part way into the book. On page 102 there is a brain map of a poor putter and a good putter.
