Guest guest
– Dr. Bridwell had me stand and march in place the next morning. There were reports on this site that you were running the hallways?? Is that true? PT came twice/day and had me walk. I walked out into the hallway the second day and added a bit of distance with each trip. By the fourth day, I walked the entire floor. I have not run to date, but I did walk for 30-40 minutes a few times…and then returned to my room for a nice nap. I tried to walk three times a day once PT allowed me to walk with a family member. – " just something you have to go through to get to the Promised Land " Thank you for putting like this. That is a super way to think about this last step. Vonnie – I am out of the hospital until the second stage, but I have already had two surgeries. I was released on Monday (six days after my second surgery). I was in the hospital from December 13 – December 26. My surgeries were December 13 and December 20. Bernie says that I'll be in the hospital from January 24 - 30 for the third one. Kathy – I watched the Sooners play their second half on Thursday and it was a great game to watch! So nice to have a great play at the end determine the outcome – that's Sooner football at its finest! There just might be a few bigger bowl games in our future... How do you type on a laptop laying down? I lay on my back with my knees slightly bent, the laptop resting on them. Or, I sometimes put my laptop on my laptop caddy and use my wireless mouse and keyboard – this setup was great for the hospital (with my laptop on the hospital tray/table thingy and the wireless keyboard/mouse in bed with me). For home, I have something very similar to this http://www.surprise.com/lifestyle/sm_apart/rolling_laptop_caddy.cfm. Mine was about $80 total from a local office supply store. It has a light cherry veneer and flat steel colored legs. I love it! I can push it up to my Backsaver chair or my bed and with the wireless keyboard, lay completely flat and still get lots done. It is really easy to roll from the bedroom to the living room as well. Great investment! Kim – Nice to see your post. How is your pain? Have you contacted any other doctors or are you still in need of down time? I know sometimes we all need to take a break from this medical hooey. Keep us posted on how you are doing! Sharon – I do believe you live in paradise! I am definitely putting your house on my list of places to visit! So many pretty things to gaze upon! Happy New Year to all of you! kam
Guest guest
Thanks, Kam! Right now our paradise is covered with snow, so that reminder of the beauty that lives here is very welcome. It isn't exactly the Newport mansions -- by a long shot! -- , but we like it, and you're certainly welcome to visit. :^) Sharon ------------------- Sharon - I do believe you live in paradise!
