because I tripped and fell at the mall two weeks ago. It scared my

husband as much as it scared me. I managed to land on my knees, but

then he reached down and put his arms around my back under my shoulder

blades and lifted me straight up. That hurt more than falling. It

felt like he had bent me right below the top of the rods.

I saw the doctor that I had been seeing for my shoulder (which is

finally back to normal after 5 months of physical therapy), and he said

nothing is broken or loose and that it looks like my fusion is fusing

up very nicely. What a relief!!

I had called Dr Bridwell as soon as I could after the fall and Bernie

had told me that I would most likely be fine. I just wanted to be sure

that everything was really ok.

Suzanne,

I'm glad that everything seems to be okay with your fusion. My

husband has helped me stand up a few times (from sitting though, not

from the floor), and it doesn't feel right. It's just like you

described where it feels like he's trying to bend me backwards. I

can't believe how different things like that feel being fused now to

the sacrum versus being fused to L4 before my revision.
