Sorry it has taken so long to respond...life keeps getting crazier....Mom did

have a heart attack and was moved to a rehab today...luckily it is in our

town and a very nice one...I spent the afternoon with her...she is

progressing....

Tyler is another story...He continued to get worse last week...running temps

of 104...Needless to say he did not make his band finals...he was actually

feeling so bad that at the time he didn't seem to mind....Of course now after

talking to friends he is miffed about the whole situation...can't blame

him...Sat he was worse and his docs were nervous about temps, headaches and

stiff neck...Wanted him in the ER...so out we went and they did all kinds of

labs and had a CT and spinal tap...looking for spinal

menengitis....ENOUGH....luckily that came back negative and they are

baffled...Labs don't really look bad...a few changes but they have been much

much worse...because it was the week end and nothing would be done they gave

us the option to bring him home...we did...Here it is Tues night and still

running temps...woke up in the middle of the night and was 104 again...and

then again this early pm...which is odd because usually the high one were

early evening...Talk to his docs daily...His ER doc even called to check on

him...on Sunday...

he has no URQ pain...no appetite..drinking alot...Has lost about 6 lbs...

I have my appointment on Thur am...and he is most likely seeing his RH and GI

thur PM...I live in central NJ...My doc is north jersey and then out to Pa

for him...

I know the saying is that GOD only gives you what you can handle but I am

starting to drop some of those balls...can't keep them all going at the same

time....

Sorry to go on but you know this is the one place when you vent you know that

you are being heard....others turn out in the beginning..

I hope everyone has a good night...And just to let you know that so far none

of those balls I'm juggling has hit the ground....I'll get though this...I am

WOMEN....hear me raor...isn't that the saying....

Thanks to everyone who has e-mailed me about Ty and my mom...

Luanne,

Even my husband asks about you every day. If positive thoughts mean

anything, you are surely blessed.

How long will your Mom be in the rehab place? I hate those places but I

only have had limited experience with them. I think that for your family,

it's undoubtedly best for her to be away from the anxieties while she

recuperates and you certainly need to have fewer responsibilities so you

can focus on Ty.

That's very frightening, what's happening to your son. Has anything like

this happened to him previously? It sounds like he has an excellent,

caring bunch of doctors taking care of him. I would be going out of my

mind if I were in your shoes. I never had to deal with serious illness

when my children were growing up. I know that we all have strengths we

don't realize are there until we need them, but you wonder at what point

you " pass " the tests and can resume normal living?

Are you getting plenty of support from other family members? I hope so.

You must be reaching the point where you'd like to just go to bed for a day

and let someone take care of you. I hope that this doesn't affect your

health too negatively. It's ongoing periods of stress like this that seem

to make those of us who are vulnerable become more ill.

Yes, you can vent here. You must feel like kicking rocks and pounding on

walls right now. From my experience, we get through the worst times by

using reserves we don't even know we have, then when there's finally some

relief, we fall apart. But that's okay. You're entitled to " fall apart "

when life slacks off on you for awhile. Meanwhile, it's okay to drop some

of those balls. No one can be all things to all people though some of us try.

If you feel like there are shadows behind you, it's because I am (and all

of us are) with you all the way, as much as we can be from such a far

distance in miles.

Take care and do keep in touch when you have time.

Take care,

Geri

Dear Luanne:

I'll be praying for Tyler. I'm so sorry to hear that he's in such bad shape.

Remember to eat and take care of yourself as much as possible. I know it's

hard when your loved ones are in the hospital. God bless you.

Luanne:

It is heartbreaking to hear about a child being so sick. I hope that his

doctor can pinpoint what is happening and that he will have some relief soon.

We are praying for you, Tyler and your Mom.

God Bless-
