Guest guest
Hi Anne and Ann, and all, I have been dx'd AIH since Jan 2000, last April I needed a total hysterectomy for "carcinoma in situ". I'm 45 and now in surgical menopause...the hot flashes are unbearable, I need to shower 3 times a day. GYN first gave me Combi-Patch, but they just sweat off all the time, so he switched me to Estrace pill, but I am still having the night sweats and hot flashes all day long. I wish I didn't have to take HRT on top of all the other meds for the AIH.....so I was just about to post the question to the group on HRT's...what has been tried, worked, or any personal advice. Anyone familiar with estrogen and testosterone combinations? Thanks for any feedback. Blessings,
Guest guest
, I do remember the sweats and hot flashes..pretty miserable feeling, especially in the middle of summer. My doc started me on 1 mg estrace 2 days after my hysterectomy... as I recall, it took a good 2, 3 weeks to alleviate the hot flashes enough that they were tolerable. Still took a couple of more weeks to really get relief from them totally. My gastro has seen no problem with me continuing with the estrace now... guess as much for the bones as anything. Hope you can get some relief from the hot stuff. nne > Hi Anne and Ann, and all, > I have been dx'd AIH since Jan 2000, last April I needed a total hysterectomy for " carcinoma in situ " . The doctor in charge of prescribing estrace for me (following approval by gastro) strongly recommended it for me because of the Prednisone/bone density relationship. She said her bones are good because she plays tennis every day, but she plans to take it to maintain her memory and libido. Harper
