Guest guest
I'm glad you feel comfortable with Dr. Hey. I look forward to you being on his blog next spring after you've had your surgery! He told me that you were planning surgery in January and that he would fuse your upper spine where kyphosis was starting to show. I'm so glad for you to find someone that would listen to what you had to say and will try to fix your problems. Isn't it a relief? Thanks for saying that Tori and I look more like sisters. She hates that but it makes me feel good!!! He looked at her back as well and said that Dr. Reeg did a good job correcting her scoliosis. Peggy [ ] 3 month follow up I had my appt. with Dr. Hey today. He and Brittany (PA-C) said I was doing great. The bone mass is becoming more solid and showing no signs of nonfusion. Restrictions are still the same except I can now lift up to 25 pounds and I can start weaning out of the brace. Brittany took a picture of me with Dr. Hey and my daughter and he will be adding my case to his blog for other patient's to see. When it is posted I will send you all a link. He also said he just got a grant for a study. He has started using the long screws into the pelvis on patients having initial surgeries with fusion to the sacrum. He said he has found a relatively 0% chance of the fusion not taking between L5 and the sacrum when he does this. So he will be doing a study to prove it. I met Betty while there and we had a nice long chat. I will let her tell you when she is having surgery and what he will be doing. I didn't get to see her after her appt. but Dr. Hey told me a little bit. She is a very nice person with beautiful blue eyes! Peggy Choose the right car based on your needs. Guest guest
Peggy, You don't know what a relief it is to have someone spend time listening to you and being very encouraging, but then again I guess you do. I have seen so many physicians and most offered no encouragement at all. You know, just live with it. After all, you're lucky to be walking and in good health. And on and on and on. I also found that these were the ones that has never done this kind of surgery and really didn't know much about it. Thanks again for pointing me to Dr. Hey! Guest guest
Betty's husband just called me. He said she came through surgery great and it didn't take as long as they thought it might. He said Dr. Hey told her she now has a belly button. She will be moved out of ICU today and will probably be able to go home on Saturday. I'll get more details when I can talk to Betty. Guest guest
Hi , I am on day 4 and I have mixed reactions to it. I am not sure if I ate something that is making go to the bathroom too much today or the meds. When I took this about 5 years ago it did the same thing, so not sure. On the other had I feel great, better than I have in weeks. Thanks for asking how I was. I was going to post to the group with the results in about a week. I am hoping this was going to work.
