Guest guest
Hello Cam, You know I have never met you personally but I value all that you do thru' this site and the wealth of information and life experience that you generously share here. The " written word " on paper or on computer forums can be misinterpeted: you felt I wrote something " mean spirited " even tho' I put " LOL " ... I feel you responded to my post (directed to CA) rather defensively. I've left all 3 posts below and I really don't understand your tone towards me. Things you say I said, I clearly didn't; there were NO mean spirited remarks directed specifically towards you or anyone, only my open honest expression of having " mixed feelings " ... Is that not allowed? I'd prefer to believe we are both just " reading things wrong " and " go back to our neutral corners " . Is that do-able? ...... Sincerely, Marty --- " cammaltby " <cammaltby@...> wrote: > > Hi Marty, You are right, we spoke of this before....there wasn't any discussion about the location. And once I found a location that seemed right, the dates pretty much selected themselves based on my scheduled departure to Eurpope and the availability of the facility. From there on in it was kind of like a orporate/religious/wellness retreat or program anywhere. The planners put together are program and decide to hold it, they decide where they are going to have it, and if the attendees are motivated to come, they do...and if they can't make it, then they don't send deposits. There is no intent to exclude anyone. To the contrary, I went to great lengths to explore as many centers as I could that would accomodate peoples pocket books and physical needs. I looked in CA, AZ, WV, PA, Mexico, Belize, and a few other places. None were the right combination I thought had the right balance of being safe, affordable and accessible. Bonnie graciously took her own time and travelled to the Trinity Center and evaluated the site. This was not a " random pick " made in the interests of being difficult. What we have found a place that is inexpensive, pretty, and restful and can accomodate as many people as want to come. Everyone has been invited, and the information has been out there for more than 3 weeks. This group numbers 250 +/-. Once you accept the fact that there is not going to be a perfect place, or time, or venue to suit everyone you relize that you do the best you can do...and if it works for some....terrific. I know we are going to have a good time and learn a lot from each other and I wish everyone could come....but that is just not realistic. I do hope that your remark that I had no regard for people west of the Mississipi was intended in jest. It came across as mean spirited and I am sure you know that nothing is further from the truth. I hope you will make your arrangements to meet us in April. If not, I wish you have good luck planning something else later on in the year. Take Care, Cam > > > > Hi , I know what you're feelin'. There really wasn't much discussion on options this time around. I think with Cam leaving soon outta the USofA, time was a factor, but I would rather have gone to a place VERY close to a main airport, rather than drive 2 hours AFTER a cross-country flight. It does feel like we folk west of the Mis'sippi were not given much consideration... probably Dallas, Denver, Chicago, even Salt Lake City (all HUBs with " deals " ) could have been do-able for most all of us. I really want to go, but must admit to mixed emotions. Kinda fell like the " nerd " that runs to catch up to the " cool " kids at lunchtime so I can sit with them... They'll let me, but they wouldn't wait for me if I didn't make the effort. ...LOL... But, hey, I am always game for a " plan " ... let's see how is doing 6 months from now, ok? Later, hugs, Marty > > --- " " <Dawg@> wrote: > > WAAAAAAAAAAAAA Cam - us West Coasters really feel left out! I've done a lot of traveling, but I'm afraid North Carolina is a tad too far for me. (Only clear across the entire country!) I may be putting my foot in my mouth, but I have a feeling I can say the same for , , Carol, and Ken. And probably the newbie , also. I had expected that it would take place somewhere around central America, so that the distance wouldn't be so bad for ALL participating. But ::::sigh:::: I guess the majority rules.
