HI Moria,

I have one of these, and it says it is good for growing wheatgrass, but I have tried to do it and it is NOT good for growing it. It dries the roots out too easily! So, it is my opinion that this is only good as a dehydrator, which it is good for, by the way. I did buy it originally for growing wheatgrass. I actually tried to modify it to work better, I put a plastic sheet around it to make it into a green house type of thing, That did help, but it caused the mold to grow too quickly

I went on a search for the type of sprouter I use and found a web page for it. I have tried a lot of sprouters and this is the one that I use and really like too. http://www.nklawnandgarden.com/Kitchen_Crop/index.htm

sprouters

Karma, Thanks for the thoughts on sprout sacks. I have one of those too: small burlapish bags.I think mine is made by Sproutman!I should have been more specific, as that is notthe kind I was thinking of. I went and found a linkfor the kind I mean: it is called a "pantrie fooddehydrator". I have never used this kind, but haveseen it several times:http://www.discountjuicers.com/pantrie.htmlI wonder if it works well for sprouting. Maybe I'llwrite the "discountjuicers" people and ask some questions(I've found them very responsive in the past). If itdoes work well it would be a great sprouter, since itis sooooo big! It is also good as a dehydrator since itjust uses the air to dry the food, it doesn't heat thefood up and kill the enzymes. I'm tempted.Edith, thanks for the link to the sproutgraden. That istempting since you say you get sunflower sprouts from hulled seed to grow without discoloration! It looks likethe trays stack ON TOP OF the seeds in the tray belowthem?? wouldn't that squish the seeds down below? Maybethey can stand the weight? I guess I could use the trayssseparately (not stacked)??Thanks again,MoriaSubscription email: mailto:bowel cleanse-subscribeegroups

It's kinda like an inverted bowl, leaving small vents for air circulation

and then you put the next one on top of that for draining and ventalation.

It does not fit down on the sprouts. BTW as soon I put the sunflower

seeds in a bag in frig, they started turning that funny color....???

I was just at WestLakes and saw a display of the sprouters I use. They are $13.9? Close to $14.00 for the set of three trays. I sent a link the other day of what they look like. If anyone would like me to ship them one, let me know. You would of course have to pay postage and product cost. Just let me know. It looked like they had about 7 or 8 of them in stock.

I'm new. Just got approved about 1 minute ago. I also am

wondering the same thing and am looking into the freshlife

sprouter. Here in Australia there isn't much of a choice of

sprouters.
