We don't know how long we'll stay, either. I don't know if she'll just see me, or order more tests, or what??!! I don't know if we'll have to spend the night--if she orders more tests...she could order them for the next day since we're already there. My husband is on vacation then, so that's why I made it then. Where do you live? in Southern Cal? If so, that's a LONG DRIVE. Twice as long as us! It doesn't sound far until you hit the freeways...and once in San Fran...makes it seem even farther!! Those hilly roads...whew!! A white knuckle ride for me. I was asking when you were coming up, in hopes it was the weekend before your appt. Thought you said you were spending the night was just presuming it was Sunday. I won't drive in SanFran (yes I am a chicken), so it would have to be a weekend so Bob (hubby) will drive. Maybe as the time gets closer we can work something out!. As time gets closer we will have more of an idea what we're going to do, but most likely we will drive straight up there that morning (leaving 5-6 AM--Yuck!) and then leave the city probably via the Bay Bridge, and we could swing by Fairfield on the way out if that works for you. The motels seems to all be over $100 per night there (at least for a decent one) so we want to spend the night somewhere else. We want to make it a time alone away from the house, kids, chores, etc. afterward. My husband is on vacation and I took the rest of the week and the next few weeks off afterward, too. Yes, the delta is pretty, especially now, the sun is finally out and its just a beautiful spring out there! Well, got my appt. and of all things, the same day you do! I did have it scheduled for 9:15, got to talking 'traffic' with Bob and we called back and had it bumped up an hour, 10:15. Looks like we will be seeing each other there! Can you believe that! So yes, would love to get together with you. Lunch after our visits (compare notes!) or come on back to Fairfield and have a nice visit. Lunch after my (later) appointment would be great!! Now we just have to find out WHERE would be a good place to eat--somewhere close to the hospital maybe??? Or, like you say, on the way to Fairfield? As the time gets closer, we'll have to give each other more info. like our cell phone #'s and a description so we can recognize each other!! Fairfield can't be that small, can it? I live in Tulare, and it's kinda big (around 50,000) but I grew up in little bitty Kingsburg. When I grew up there, it was around 3,000 population, and now it's around 10,000. My mom still lives there (25 mi from here). I think 50,000 or more is BIG!! It all depends on your perspective, I guess. Tomorrow I hope to be able to have a complete spine X-ray done. I finally got someone there at the Spine Center who could tell me what wanted. She never did call me back. I tried again today a little after 4 PM, and a lady answered this time and she said needed my insurance info, so she gave me the fax #, I copied the card, and faxed it. I also asked her about the spine X-ray the guy mentioned the other day, and she said, yes, I needed a CURRENT one, not one from a year ago.
