Guest guest
Dear Carol, Here's wishing you tons of luck with getting" Unscrewed". I'm lucky mine haven't caused me trouble, but if they did out they'd go. You are sooooo tough, and I'm sorry it came to this, but alas it should be a piece of cake compared to the big surgery. There sure is power in getting things decided, and putting a plan into action! [ ] Screw Removal I threw in the towel this morning and emailed Dr. Hu about having the two bottom screws removed. I'm not thrilled about having more surgery but these darned screws are causing more pain every day. Last night Icould not lower myself into my favorite chair, and when I tried to roll over in bed I coudln't it pulled so much. They are also hampering mywalking even more. We usually do lots of errands and running around on the weekends and I found myself not wanting to go out at all knowing how much pain I would be in. So enough is enough.I will post when I found out what is going on. Dr. Hu is great about answering her emails. She told me it would be just a one day hospital stay too, which made me very happy. Read I think it was Ann Maries post about after surgery, and the hospital bed. I can't say enough good things about getting a hospitalbed. In regards to the posts about pets being able to get up on one.I have a toy poodle and pom that had no problems getting up on the bed for a cuddle and a nap. For small dogs they sure took a lot of room though! One note, when I was in the hosp. bed, it was on the other side of the house. Not a big house but I sure didnt have strength to yell for help, we used walkie talkies. They came in handy as there were a few times I couldn't get out of bed to use the bathroom. Really handy.I'm happy to read your all doing so well. , the depression sucks. I am still going through it. Have days when its all so over whelming and I feel so useless the tears just don't stop. You will get through it. Its a long haul...I'm so proud of all of you!hugs all around,
Guest guest
Dear , I blew it and put Carols name to your post, I guess peri-menpause has really gotten ahold of my brain. My kids answer to anything I yell out since I have to go through all their names to get to the right one, SORRY! Guest guest
- I agree with - you are tough and I admire your readiness to get this inevitable "unscrewed" procedure over and done with. As they say..."you go, girl"!! Gross [ ] Screw Removal I threw in the towel this morning and emailed Dr. Hu about having the two bottom screws removed. Guest guest
, I am slowly catching up on old posts and I saw this post about getting your iliac screws out. I am so sorry you are going to have to go under the knife again...but of course if this wraps up this pain cycle you are in, then it will be well worth it. Have you scheduled a date yet or are you still waiting for enough time to elapse since the original surgery? I know DrRand says about 25% of the time they need to come out. I feel the occasional twinge and wonder if down the road I will be signing up too...but for now it's only a few benign movements that can make me notice my hardware...it's never when I am doing something active...strange! Guest guest
Hi Cam, Nice to see you back...glad your move went ok. We were going to wait till after the first of the year, but they are getting more and more irritating. Had my CT scan Friday to see if I am healed enough. Have an appt. with Dr. Hu at the end of August to discuss it all. Fingers crossed I am healed up enough to get them removed. Also finally have an appt. with the infectious diseases dept. at UCSF about the infections. Really curious to see what they have to say. My ins. authorization to approve counseling for depression should be in by tomorrow and I can get that started. Also referral for shoulder is in the happenings so I can start the pt for it. Seems when I decided to get 'straightened up', I opened a whole new can of worms for myself :-0 Enjoy your new adventure! I'm just hanging in myself... ;o} > > , > > I am slowly catching up on old posts and I saw this post about getting > your iliac screws out.
