Congratulations. THat had to be a GREAT feeling...

Hi Everyone

I don't post often but read daily, actually a couple of times a day.

Anyway,

I wanted to share something. Yesterday I went to the mall and was trying on

pants...something I hate to do because my legs have always been the bigger

part of me, meaning if it fit in the leg, then it was way to big in the

waste. Well, I fit into a size 10 Tommy girl jeans and 10 Levi's....I am so

excited. I settled for the Levi's cause they were half the price, but when

I

get down to my goal weight I will buy some Tommy Jeans....WooHoo a size 10,

a

couple of more months and I will be in the single digits for sizes!!! I am

5'1 so single digits for me is a lot better! It's funny cause I have only

lost about 8lbs since mid June, but went back to work on Friday for just the

day (off for the summer) and everyone noticed a HUGE difference, so even if

you aren't losing on the scale doesn't mean your not losing that fat!!

Whatta ride, thanks Dr. Rutledge!!!

Tania-

Congratulations!! I can't even imagine single digits.

I SO understand what you mean. I have the opposite problem. If it fits in my

stomach then it is huge in the legs. I wear a 14 - but think I could wear a 10

in my legs. I am always searching for tapered legs.

I was doing my pre-op work when you danced - I remember following so many of you

during that time. I was glued to my computer reading the updates every day

wondering if it would ever happen for me......

Jan,

Personally I hate to shop, but I hope you have the absolute best day possible!!! Buy something you simply don't have any need of, and put it where you will see it every day to remind you often what it's like to do something on the fly! Every time you see it you will be reminded of the wonderful time you shared with your daughter. What a fine opportunity to make some great memories. ENJOY!!!!! Allida

Okay, time for MY rant! LOL

I went shopping a couple of times in the last few days. It was really

nice to have a handicapped parking sticker, but often the handicapped

spaces aren't the closest to the door or they are full. There is NEVER

a working " cart " to drive at Wal-mart. And they have taken almost all

of the seating out to make room for holiday merchandise. I have

complained to the management several times. They don't care.

At my favorite yarn/hobby store most of the carts have yarn or other

threads wound around the wheels of the grocery type push carts so they

are very hard to " drive " . I need those carts to use as a walker.

At Kohl's I walked all the away across the store today to go to the one

handicapped dressing room only to find it was closed because it was

WET. Don't even want to think what that means! It is very difficult for

me to try on clothes if I don't have a place to sit down and rest.

Can we talk bras again? Sorry Ken! I even went to a store that

specializes in hard to fit sizes and cancer patients and couldn't find

anything. The lady who " helped " me just didn't understand that a bra

could fit one side and the wire could stab me in the arm pit on the

other. Nor did she understand why I couldn't stand for the side panel

to cut into my shoulder blade. Or have the straps dig into my shoulders

where my bursitis is.

Now lets talk shoes-----oh how I wish I could find shoes! It isn't my

fault I wear a 12 AAA and need a combination last! Even the lady at the

SAS store commented on how flat my feet were. No wonder they hurt so

much. They quit making one of my favorite " dress " shoes and quit

carrying my size in the store so now I must special order.

Please keep in mind I am doing all this with the help of my wonderful

long suffering husband. He drives, drops me off when necessary, carries

everything and even totes my purse because it is too heavy for my

shoulder. It isn't easy to carry a purse and walk with a cane. AND he

stands in line to check out while I try to find a seat to ease the pain

and catch my breath!

Thats all for now----

Kathy

I think the farmers market is good as it is local so you know it is fresh, maybe picked today or recently, I hear it is cheaper too.

thanks, yeah I think it is too expensive, at whole foods the organic apple cost $4.00 instead of around $1.50 at the normal market. On Jan 23, 2011, at 2:02 PM, Theresa Gottlieb wrote:

Well right there you would not find me buying such an expensive apple. My budget will never encompass all this organic stuff. In fact, the only way that I believe that folks can be sure about it being organic, is if you grow it yourself.

the price of food is criminal here I get food stamps you get $70/week, it is not possible to feed yourself and eat healthy on that. Consider to have cereal in the morning will cost will costa about $13.00 to buy. MOst people say that can't afford to eat cereal anymore, this is just one example. There are so many commercials about eating healthy, but then you hear how nobody can afford it. The worst thing is when you buy locally, I would prefer to support local farmers, but their prices are always 2-3 times higher than the mainland fruits, makes no sense. I think it is all just greed! On Jan 23, 2011, at 7:18 PM, Gloria wrote:
