Auto talk (and slumber)

Ken - so glad you found a vehicle that is comfortable.

We flew home this morning and, after riding around St. Louis in the

Dodge minivan my dad drove up, I was a tad nervous about how our

car, or any other car, might feel. I was also nervous about my bed

since the one in the apartment was so comfortable pre-op and so bad

post-op.

Well, my brother drove our car to the airport, followed by the

minivan with all of our St. Louis stuff in it, and I chose our

Subaru Forester for the ride from the airport to our house (it's

about 25 miles). The Forester is still WONDERFUL! Because the frame

is just four inches taller than a car, it is really easy to get

situated and the seats are tall enough inside that my legs felt more

like they were in chair than a bucket. I am glad we don't live

further away, but the ride was way better than the Dodge. Such a

relief!

So, then my brother and his girlfriend went to pick up some lunch

for us and I was told I should go lay down - guess I looked a little

worn out from the excursion. So, they took off, we put clean sheets

on the bed, and I crawled in. I was out in no time when I woke up,

I didn't feel the slightest bit stiff (sleeping in one position for

too long in the hospital caused me pain from stiffness). I LOVE MY

BED! We are going to get a foundation to put under it so it won't be

so close to the ground, but it still sleeps perfectly. Such a relief!

Happy New Year!
