I have just had a blood test and the results for me were

----- T3 2.1 the range is 0.8 -2.4

on another blood test I have free t3 range 2.6 5.6

what is the difference between t3 and free T3.

john C UK ???

After having gleemed information from this forum, I went to my GP and

got copies of my blood results. It would appear that my Free T3

level is always hovering around the 2.1 level this is low right?

I am on Thyroxine 200mcg, and she actually stated on my notes

that " Free T3 level too low, increase thyrone intake "

I have an appt to see her on Tuesday, to try and convince her the

prescribe me this extra drug, although i have read that GPs do not

like to prescribe this drug, does anyone know why this is?

In June 2002 i started having what i call " my bad nights " and they

seem to occur after i have been out for the evening, i don't

drink/smoke and as i have a small child, late nights are not an

option, but when i go to bed after having been out, i start to go

really hyper, anxious, vomit, upset stomach, sweat and shiver and

then within 3-4 hours it passes. It has even started happening when

I have a night in. I went to see a locum about it last year, as I

was having to say " no " to party invites as couldn't then face a night

with my head down the loo.

He put me on valium and propanalol!!!! how crazy was that. Well i

took one of each and then decided that i was not depressed,

something else was happening inside, I am now on a crusade to find

out more about my underactive thyroid problem. Has anyone out there

had any similar experiences, or have any idea if this a symptom of

Hypothyroidism?

You know it's getting so scary to me. I don't think I'm EVER going to

find a good doctor( I'm also on an HMO and doesn't do too much for my

plight either). I have had SO many conversations lately with people

who say the same thing.... " my doctor keeps treating my symptoms, not

the disease, not the whole picture. " One person even told me that

once the doc thought she had a psych problem( thyroid depression most

likely), that's all he thought her problem was from that point

forward. I'm QUICKLY losing faith in the medical establishment. I'm

just waiting until I find my knight in shining armor.

Fight for it. Even if it's wrong...fight for it. There's only ONE way

to find out if it could be right for you and NOT trying it is not the

way.

Sorry, I'm in a very passionate mood today...:-)
