That sounds like fun, Ken.

I brought my portable CD player but was told this MRI isn't set up with a CD player and they can't allow portable ones. It's actually on a truck that serves more than one hospital. I was told it is one of the older MRI trucks. But at least I only had to go to the hospital nearest my home, about 10-15 minutes away.

Good thing it's so close, because I'm back there on Jan. 2 for my brain MRI. The upside to all this tube-lying is that yesterday I got to where I didn't feel claustrophobic. So I'm hoping Jan. 2 will be a breeze.

I'm new and haven't read up on the Prism glasses yet, but wanted to tell you I had my last 4 MRI's at Physician's Stand Up MRI in Hurst, Texas. It was wonderful, since I can't lay down flat anymore. They put me in a big chair like device, pad me with pillows and give me an arm rest that crosses in front of me to rest both arms on. Then they move the seat back into the machine for the test. It's like sitting in a big chair and being backed into a tunnel with the front completely open. Meanwhile there is a huge flat screen TV in front of me to watch. The one for my neck, they put a big collar device around my neck. I would never have any other kind of MRI until I get my back fixed, if ever. My doctor likes it because it shows the load on each disc instead of showing my back at rest. They also give me my films on a CD, which I copied to send to different doctors.

Just a bit of FYI.

What a concept -- showing the load on discs, sitting in a comfortable

chair, watching a flat screen tv (small would have been great, but

HUGE?!?!?)

I couldn't lay flat then either, and of couse it's worse now. The

staff seemed to have very little concern for that. They gave me a

flat pillow for under my knees... and I had to stay that way for

almost an hour.

If only I could have had one of those. Long pause...

I wouldn't have panic attacks now. Long sigh...
