What is an IVF Filter wire???

>

> kam - I can't believe your day in the ER. It gave me chills when

I read it.

> Today, I got a call from Dr Bridwell's office. They left a

message and said the radiologist read my x-rays and it showed the

IVF filter wires are fractured but in correct position. I will have

to call the office tomorrow and see what I will need to have done.

When I had the filtered placed due to blood clots, I was told it

could not be removed.

I hit the wrong key, it is a IVC filter. It was put in June 2003 after surgery, I developed blood clots. I couldn't take a blood thinner, cause that would interfere with the fusion, so I had to have the filter put in. I developed blood clots in my leg and lung. Hi Kathy, I just read your post and abour fell on the floor....I just went to a new doctor and he was talking to me about the veins in my leg that right after my revision went wacky...he said that the doc that did my revision should have put me on blood thinners and that he really missed the mark with me. Now this is a doctor that until I read your post was one of the opinions we were considering for more work that I need to have done...NOT now! Thank you!! Suzie - Glad I wrote the e-mail about the ivc filter. I go in for a CT scan tomorrow morning. Dr Bridwell is worried that the front of my spine has not fused. It is causing me to curve to the right. I have to call Memorial tomorrow and try and find out what can be done about the fractured wires of the ivc filter. I hope you find a good dr to go too. Suzie - I had the CT scans done. My husband is going to hand carry them to the dr in St Louis, so it will be awhile before they are read. I will let you know what I find out. I still haven't found out what is done about fractured wires of the IVC filter. Thanks for your thoughts.
