Guest guest
Hi my name is Tammy I am probably being a basket case but anyway...I am totally new and clueless about my thyroid so if i sound like an idiot i apologize ahead of time. 2 years ago i was given a thyroid test and it came back borderline but being on a military base you can't be borderline you have to be hypothyroid or hyperthyroid and no in between in oder to get the symptoms treated. So i went along my marry little way. I can't remember what my levels were (sorry) now in that 2 years well let me start from the beginnings its easier.....3 years ago this Thanksgiving day i almost weighed 300 lbs that Thanksgiving was a wake up call when i was climbing my stairs one step at a time and couldn't breath when i reached step 4! I won't go into my exact diet but i did fairly well by watching and cutting out the bad stuff and excercised daily. Eventually by the end of 8 months i had lost 100lbs and my cholesterol was in the normal ranges but my ldl was a 36 which needed to be a 40 so she told me to excersise more akkkkkkkk i was already doing 2 aerobics classes, a yoga class, pilates, and jogging at night daily! what more could i do? A year later i lost 30lbs and then another 30 and 10. In may i had surgery for severe acid reflux and hiatal hernia (nissen fundolication) in these 3 years i used to always hot and then something happened and i was freezing all the time! We use to joke and say i lost my fur coat that's why im so cold. My husband would hug me and back away saying oh my honey your freezing (we live in Florida) so in Aug i went to have my nails done and the next day my ring finger on my right hand started to swell to this day they don't know what's wrong i am waiting for tricare to call me to make an mri appt about 3 weeks ago i started feeling run down just load the dishwasher is a chore! Oh i now weigh well did up until 3 weeks ago 145 now 160. I gained 15 lbs in 2 days!!! And i haven't changed my diet! I don't know what you would call me but i watch my carbs, don't like to go over 25mg, i hate red meat, i eat chicken sometimes, i don't eat eggs, i'll eat salads and tons of fruit especially grapes i can't get enough grapes i crave them like a pg woman! oh and i drink tons of water. My husband says i eat like a bird but i will eat bad stuff every now and then like going to the movies and eating popcorn. My muscles ache all the time its a never ending story to say my back hurts or i have a headache! Now during my surgery they said i have a low tolerance to anesethic because my heart rate went to below 40 and had to inject my iv with something. I don't like taking pain meds so i took maybe 1 demerol the whole time i was in the hosp. I do now take phentermine doctors prescribed and closely monitored, i was on maintenance until this 15 lbs crept back. I may have depression but not really bad only get depressed if something really bothers me. I have had to take efexor if my husband deployed because the kids would drive me up that wall or they would do something and the school would call me now i have 1 graduated and one in his last year of high school and one that is 16. Hubby is deployed again and things so far is pretty good no problems. A girl in one of my was harrassing me and that made me depressed for a while. Forgetful, ummmmmmmm yea i have been meaning to send out my husbands care package for over a week now and i keep forgetting and walk right out the door or i'll be driving somewhere and drive right passed it or i lay something down and forget what i did with it. Forever losing my id card or my car keys. Forget dr appts here lately forgetting which kid is which or the dogs names! Sooooooooooo i decided to self medicate myself. Went to GNCa nd a friend of mine that works there helped me i am taking 2 times a day i capsule of gugulipid, an womens ultra mega vitamin, big 50 b complex,l-tyrosine and 1 time a day i am taking 1 tablet of kelp and my 1 tablet of phentermine. So there's my story! Sorry so long but thought it be best to start from the beginning. Am i doing the right thing? So far in taking my supplements i have noticed that i have a little more energy and my body seems to be heating up and last night the swelling in my finger went down. I asked my orthopeds doc about it being related to thyroid and he said its a possibility and he has heard of that happening but still have the mri. I just want to feel better i am so sick and tired of being sick and tired all the time!! I want to feel back to my self. I keeps saying gosh i have med problems being obese now i have med problems not being obese i can never win but i guess that i am not dead which is where i was heading if i stayed obese! So please if someone can help me understand or if i am doing something wrong please help me. If anyone wants to reply to me private my e-mail is sedona_2002@... I greatly appreciate this!!!!
