Guest guest
Peggy, I'm so sorry for you and your family about your mother. All of you are in our prayers. Peace be with you, especially during this time of grieving. Deb M. > > I don't know how many of us are aware of this fund. I got word that my Mom passed away at Noon today so we will headed to upstate NY and trying to get through this snowstorm. But my brother and I discussed donations and his first thought was something to do with scoliosis because she had it and my grandmother had it (which I didn't know although I do know they had severe kyphosis). So I came across this address for making donations for the Scoliosis Research Society. Here is the address because it is something we might all want to put in our wills: > > > Scoliosis Research Society Endowment Fund > Orthopaedic Research and Education Foundation > 6300 N. Guest guest
Peggy, I work for the federal Government and our agency does charity contributions that can be taking out of our bi-weekly checks and a couple of years ago I found out that the foundation you are speaking of is one of many on the list that we can pick from. So I am lucky I that I can contribute to the research and have it directly taking out of my pay check. I am not sure if all federal Government employees can elect to do this but, with my agency we can. Peggy Greene <jpgunlimited@...> wrote: I don't know how many of us are aware of this fund. Guest guest
Peggy, I am so sorry to hear that your mom has passed away. I am sure you will be comforted by family when you get home, but please drive safely and slowly. Thank you for the Foundation address. It is wonderful that you are thinking of others now during this time of sadness. Hugs, Cam
Guest guest
I was really surprised that my brother recommended something to do with scoliosis. Mom didn't have cancer or diabetes or any other major diseases that there are major funds for. But I think it is a great idea since it definitely runs on the maternal side of my family. I was thinking of the National Osteoporosis Foundation for which I am a moderator on their new site but my brother insisted that her scoliosis was more a problem than osteo. She's had many fractures so I tend to disagree but if a little bit of money gets sent to scoliosis research it will be worth it. It would be great for it to end with my daughter and not worry about grandkids having it. Peggy [ ] Re: awareness for contributions Peggy,I am so sorry to hear that your mom has passed away. Guest guest
Peggy, I am so sorry to hear about your Mom. My Mom passed away last year at the age of 97. I'm 62 and this was my first year without a Mom, so I know how much you will miss her. > > I don't know how many of us are aware of this fund.
