That's exactly the question my hubby asked Dr. Rand.

His reply? Insurance does cover it. But you are in control of WHEN you get

the surgery. It's not emergency surgery, hence the term " elective " .

Or something to that effect.

A lot of things are " elective " and still covered by insurance. Having

your tonsils out or a hysterectomy is elective.
