Hi all,

Well, my luck is running true to form. My sister and I drove all the way to

Miami ( 3 hours in the morning traffic ). They told us that the doctor

hadn't shown up, they had no idea where he was, and we would have to

reschedule! Then they said he was at a doctor's office, then customer

service said he'd had a family emergency. Ya'll can imagine how I felt after

9 weeks of waiting for this appointment.

They are supposed to call me on monday to reschedule. If they weren't some

of the best doctors in the state I wouldn't bother.

Hi ,

That is disappointing news!!! Don't give up, and

don't let any of this get you down. I'm sure it will

be worth the wait.

Wishing you the best,

Barbara Ann

What rotten luck! I hope you'll pressure them for a new appointment ASAP

and not let them put you off. Stress that it could be a medical emergency

if left alone much longer.

A guy my husband worked was supposed to have surgery, was prepped and even

anesthetized and the surgeon didn't show up. Incredible, huh? Once I

walked out of a doctor's office after taking off from work and waiting 2

hours after scheduled time. I told them that my time was also valuable and

they could call me when they could manage to get me in at the time of my

appointment. They called me the next day and I was seen right on the

minute when I came back.

Probably the reason you weren't notified was because whoever was

responsible for contacting patients just dropped the ball. Hope you'll ask

them why they didn't contact you before you'd left home for your long drive.

Take care, . Don't let it ruin your weekend.

Hi all,

I'm okay today about it, but last night was wierd because I felt really bad

and my eyes were more yellow than I'd ever seen them. I guess it was stress

making me flare.

I will reschedule, and they did say they would get me in soon.

Thanks...

I've never had jaundice that I've noticed (though my medical records say I

did and my urine was certainly an interesting color.) I don't know what

jaundice means in terms of your current condition. Not all AIH patients

have jaundice, apparently.

The fact that you aren't under treatment is worrisome. I know it must be a

hardship to have to make that long drive again and you are owed a major

apology from someone. Also, it's not that good for you to spend that much

time sitting still in the car. Drives back and forth from Las Vegas to San

Diego used to cause my feet and ankles to swell badly. Get through the

weekend then get MAD if they don't take you in right away!

Take care,

Geri
