Guest guest
Hi Sheila, I hope you are feeling better by now. I don't see a response to this post and am sorry you haven't gotten an answer yet. Is this normal for you, happended before? I would definately call the doctor ASAP! Sherry > Hi guys! Guest guest
http://www.emedicine.com/neuro/topic214.htm someone wrote about this once before I never knew it could effect thyroid people only because I know it effects diabetics---shelia needs to look into this since she sits on the line of diabetes--- this is another side effect of thyroid disease. > > Hi guys! Guest guest
Hi Tina & Cher (or do you go by Sherry?), thanks so much for your responses; I really appreciate it. No, this is not normal for me; it's never happened before like this. Always before it was when I had my leg crossed or after about 10 min. of exercise (not walking). This is the first time it happened when I was sitting in an upright position. I was getting up and trying to walk it out. It was so numb there was no way I could drive, and it was scaring me. anyway, after about 10-15 minutes, it finally stopped, and I haven't had any further problems the rest of the day. I also posted in my Hashi group, and one lady suggested it might also be carpal tunnel in my feet. I remember my mom telling me about a friend who was diagnosed with it in her feet. I know it can be related to diabetes, and I think thyroid. My rheumie is testing me for several things. I told her about the numbness in my hands and feet. She did diagnose me with carpal tunnel, but I just assumed she meant in my wrists. Maybe not? She is sending me for an EMG test next week. I've been told that even though my glucose level was high (100) that it was nothing to worry about. I was told the " normal " ranges for glucose were just changed, and that's why 100 is high. So if everyone's telling me i'm okay, then I'm confused. does high not mean high? is it like some kind of early warning system? If I'm okay, then why did the nurse practitioner at my endo's office suggest that I might want to go on glucophage (something I think is a bit premature). I guess I'll find this stuff out. anyway, thanks again guys for your responses. I got so scared, but i'm okay now. well, I've gotta hit the sack...school in the morning. i'm only gonna get 4 hours sleep tonight. Ugh! talk to ya'all for just a bit in the morning while I'm having my coffee. I know it's bad for me, but.... Tina, I just wanted to say re: that article on SSRI's...I know that just because we read something on the web doesn't make it so. I appreciate you posting so much information . I'm like you...i figure if I see the same thing over and over, then it's probably true. then just gotta check a reliable source to see if it checks out. anyway, thanks again! hugs, sheila Cher <hary722001@...> wrote: Hi Sheila, I hope you are feeling better by now. Guest guest
It's Sherry - I need to edit my profile. How's it going today, feeling better I hope. I can relate to how scarey that can be. I don't have this issue, but have woken up several times at night with a completely dead arm. I mean completely dead, I couldn't move or feel it at all. Had no sensation at all, even when touching it. Absolutely terrifying, but it did pass with forced movement. So far hasn't reoccurred again, and I hope it won't. Is that what happened to your foot? > Hi Tina & Cher (or do you go by Sherry?), > thanks so much for your responses; I really appreciate it. > No, this is not normal for me; it's never happened before like this. Guest guest
Hi Sherry, Yikes...sounds really scary to wake up with a dead arm! I have had this happen before with my foot...can't remember when though, and it's not often. my foot wasn't completely dead, but it was numb enough that i was afraid to drive. my feet have been fine since. i didn't exercise yesterday or today though...too sick. thanks, sheila Cher <hary722001@...> wrote: It's Sherry - I need to edit my profile.
