Guest guest
Hey Guys, here. Not much new to tell from the North Coast (Cleveland that is.) After Christmas (because that is the busy time at work,) I will go in for hernia surgery. From all accounts of others that will put me out for a week or two. But other then that just gearing up for the holidays. Living alone again. My roomie decided to move in with his boyfriend so he will be " officially " out of here by the end of the month. Guess I should savor the feeling of independence while I can. (But if anyone ever needs a place to stay in Cleveland I have an extra bed and several couches!) If anyone is ever in Cleveland look me up! Peace
Guest guest
Present!! Thank you so much for checking. I am still here. This is a terrible, terrible time for me. My husband has MS and became suicidal on Monday. I had to rush home from work, make sure Kaiser gave him some medication (they did-zoloft) seems to be working fine, my boss is moving me to another department because I appear to be " zonked " and have to many personal problems to cater to hers. My doctors say all my functions are normal, cannot explain my extreme fatigue, malaise, diarhea, constipation, funny taste in my mouth - so suggested I need a psychiatrist and a pap smear (just to make sure they arent missing something)-now why didn't I think of that!!!! Peace & love, Lynda (AIH, land)

Guest guest
Ginger, Just checking in to let you all know that I am doing fine. I don't post often but do try to keep up to date with the list subjects. Almost 5 1/2 years post transplant, I am feeling fine but have some slight kidney problems due to the anti-rejection medication, Prograf. My transplant center may lower the level I take. I need some arthroscopic surgery on both knees within the next few months due to damage by 12 years of prednisone use. But all in all, I am feeling great and happy to be alive. I take one day at a time and thank God for every day. I am wondering if anyone happened to see a program on The Learning Channel tonight from 7 to 8 pm (EST) which showed an actual liver transplant. It was absolutely amazing and I am so glad that I got to see it. Wish I could get a tape of that show to share with others. The patient sailed through her liver transplant which was only 8 hrs. long and she spent 8 days in the hospital post transplant, which I think is truly remarkable. Each liver transplant patient is different and some people breeze through the surgery while others struggle. (Unfortunately, I was one of the strugglers with a 15 hr. transplant and several months in-hospital post transplant.) But the show mentioned that the survival rate from liver transplants has increased to 80 to 90%. I think those are encouraging statistics. Good health and best wishes to all on this list. Bonnie P. Guest guest
I made a digital recording of the TLC episode, and plan on transferring to tape.
