Guest guest
Stores and makes hormones regulating childhood growth and development. Both these glands are effected by the hypothalamus via the pituitary (cushings syndrome) which is where the environmental burdens are stored. Vitamin deficiencies (TEST) can lead to the dysfunction of both glands, which then can cause insomnia, and chronic fatigue syndrome. Proper adrenal (adrenals and salt) function is also necessary to convert the T4 to T3 (active thyroid hormone) Both can be helped by meditation, vitamin therapy, dealing with repressed feelings, anger, and spiritual meaning. Thyroid and adrenal hormones try to work in sync. If there is enough of thyroid hormone, the adrenals will often calm down. If there isn't enough thyroid hormone, the adrenals will kick in to compensate. The three main adrenal hormones are cortisol, adrenalin and noradrenalin, adrenalin and noradrenalin are the " fight or flight hormones. When the body is in need (for instance, too little thyroid hormone or life stresses, trauma, etc.), these hormones come out and do the job. Cortisol, on the other hand, is the calming hormone because it provides negative feedback to keep adrenalin and noradrenalin under control. This delicate balance can be interrupted easily by low or high levels of cortisol. The adrenalin and noradrenalin (which cause sleep disorders when in excess) are constantly signaling to increase cortisol production to slow down the adrenalin and noradrenalin. The body can only take so much before there is widespread imbalance in all the endocrine systems.
