Guest guest
Can anyone tell me how to lose this unwanted 30lbs. I just was diagnosed with hypothyroidism. Now I understand why I wasn't losing weight. I diet and exercised and still never lost any. I'm wondering will the thyroid medication help so that I will be able to lose weight? What medication would you say is the best? I really need some help
Guest guest
Since my daughter became ill I have been trying to figure out the connection with thyroid and food. My daughter made a few mistakes, taking out salt (lowered her iodine levels) ate too much soy---went on a high protein diet. She was always trying to stay thin since she is only 5'1 and has a hard time staying thin---which is weird because she was always in volleyball, swim team ect. So I could never figure out why this very healthy eating woman could not stay thin---her weight is usually around 120-130 and she is a big built girl, not small boned. I kept on thinking why if you eat well, why is the body seeming not digesting the food or maybe it just was not assimilating it?? or maybe her digestive food enzymes were just not working--thus the problem with the bathroom and the decline of her health. As every symptom passed by I knew something had to be wrong--thus the thyroid problem which still by the way no doctor has diagnoised even with the test results---but she does not have Hashimoto's thyroid that is caused by a autoimmune problem which I think if you repair your immune system you could cure it?? But of course that depends how severe you have this one. The body is a great healing machine if you learn how to use it properly, dieting to lose weight will not help your body heal----the kind of diet that restricts important nutrients will not make you well, which is why I strongly suggest juicing, eating fresh veggies, fruits and lean protein. I learned this almost 13 years ago with CFS. But what to do with my daughter, she does not have a autoimmune illness, that much we know---and she has a hard time digesting foods, unless she is on the cytomel---so what causes these problems?? Everyone says your body is overworked, another college student over stressed and underslept. Our bodies can't take all the pounding we give it so it gives up and causes us to become ill and that was very noticable when she went on a restrictive diet---her body just said no way---periods stopped, hair fell out more, bathroom problems increased along with memory problems, body temp. fell---heart slowed---the body was in a decline. So now trying to figure out how to get the body back--yes vitamins a must, healthy food as always---but the mind needs a long rest as well or else you will not heal---everything has a balance, to over stress in any area brings an illness on. Now I do believe in other factors, such as genes, toxic environment, autoimmune problems---but it does appear until you find out what caused your illness you can't figure out how to repair it. well just thoughts---any ideas or comments?? tina > Can anyone tell me how to lose this unwanted 30lbs. Guest guest
Hi, I just wanted to offer some reassurance. I had hypo before my two girls. I had one miscarrage most likely because it wasn't diagnosed at the time. I did fine with no special dose adjustments but did require supplemental progesterone.
