Sue,

Your doctor is doing absolutely the right thing. My doctor also checks

with the Hepatologist at Scripps when he wants to change my medication,

even though he studied at Scripps himself. At higher dosages of pred, I

wouldn't have dreamed of experimenting, and right now I'm not sure that

decreasing it is a good idea after all, so I'll check with my doctor to see

if he thinks I should continue.

Sounds like you had a busy day. Isn't it great to feel productive? I love

it when I get a lot accomplished. It's worth any extra aches and pains and

sometimes I actually feel better for having done more. I have to keep from

overdoing things, though, because I have a tendency to set unrealistic

goals then keep working towards them until I'm ready to drop from

exhaustion.

My husband's father will be 89 this month. Until recently, he was in great

condition but now he's developing some small medical problems. We should

be as lucky! Enjoy the birthday party and enjoy yourself. This is an

upbeat time of year so we all have to make a vow to enjoy every minute of

every day.

Take care,

Geri

Sue,

I just got the biggest kick out this! My kids' paternal grandmother

passed away about a year ago - they called her " Grandma Nurse " ! I know

this has absolutely nothing to with liver, but I just wanted you to know

this made my day and I can't wait to tell my kids they have a kindred

spirit.

Sounds like my family (my Mom's parents had 60 grandchildren and no one

seems to remember for sure how many great-grandchildren.) I knew it would

work out and you'd have a good time. I'll bet no one said anything about

weight, did they?

Take care,

Grandma Farm's 88th party was great. 90 people lots of food and good company.

All of Grandma'a Great Grandchildren were there.

She is still talking about it and probably won't stop for a long time. One

thing she got was a book for guests to sign and for pictures etc. My cousin

made it on her computer and it was great. She says she has looked in

everyday.

My bother Gayle didn't show up. My brother Art, was sick with his own pains

and my brother-in-law didn't come so it was a very nice day. People knew of

my sickness from Grandma but they had alot of questions for me. They were not

afraid of getting sick. They wanted to know who in my family had it. I have

no idea because my father passed away 3 years ago and my mom died when I was

10.

I enjoyed every minute of the day on Sunday I remember the years that

Grandma didn't like any of my dad's family. For 20 years it was bad

Sue,

We can chose our friends but not our family. You're lucky that you have so

many nice relatives. I know people who haven't spoken to anyone in their

family for years! I also have relatives I'd just as soon not be around. I

think we all do. All in all, it sounds like a perfect family picnic. I

envy you. Most of our family is 1200 or more miles away but fortunately we

have visitors every few months so we don't feel too much like orphans.

Take care,

Geri
