I have NASH.....has anyone ever heard of that. I'f anyone has any

information regarding NASH I would love to hear it.

Hi ,

Nash is Non Alcoholic SteatoHepatitis......A form of fatty liver. I have

been told that if I loose weight and eat a low fat diet it SOMETIMES

helps...I am very worried

I'm assuming that AIH is Alcohol Induced Hep....AM I correct...

Usually People who get a fatty liver have abused Alcohol, drugs or some kind

of toxins...I haven't that why its called NASH...Non Alcoholic etc.

Their is very little information on this. I wish knew more. Thank you for

Thanks Jody,

I appreciate your input. I dont think it's a real seroius disease. I

believe that I can control it by weight loss and diet. I hope so.

I have had elevated liver enzyms for about 5 years. Alt 105 and Ast 60 or

so. Then the doctors finally did a CT scan and determined that I has a fatty

liver. I hope I can control it. They ran every test in the book, I feel

lucky that All I have is a fatty liver.

trying to say is did you develope NASH from something else. You e-mail

concerns me and I am now worried. I thought that NASH was really not that

big of a deal, as long as you take care of your self, of course.

I read alot about NASH when I was first researching

possible causes for my elevated liver enzymes and the

pain. I think I put into the search engine " liver

disorders " or something like that or possibly even

fatty liver.. I am sorry but I dont have the url's

anymore since I ruled that out.

no Aih stand for autoimmune hepatitis it actually when the immune system

does not recognize it self and attacks good cells, which with aih

happens to be the liver.

this is along the lines of ms and arthritis more like lupus.

Our bodies are acting as if we had a transplant, it's rejecting our own

liver.

Well the cause is still unknown, what they say is that we were born with

a example zx2 on one of our chromosomes and sometime during our live

something triggered it??

I believe the cause of mine was the hep b vaccine, i turned yellow 2

weeks after the last shot.

I'm doing well now, i'm on some heavy duty meds, but i'm taking a

experimental drug in place of predisone and it has worked, first thing

in 3 years!! i fell 80% normal

Hi Marie and everyone. I too have NASH and am in first stage fibrosis. My

doctor told me after my biopsy that it showed a precancerous condition. I

have a copy of my biopsy and wish I could understand it. My SGOT is 122,

SGPT 146, Alk. phos. 126. I also have URQ pain. I'm now on urso. You're

not alone, Marie, although sometimes it seems like it. Here are a few

I'm sorry to worry you, Marie. I'm 52 , took n-saids for 10 years for

arthritis. Have Grave's disease, took radioactive iodine for that 7 years

ago and had to take high dosage steroids for a year and a half for my

eye.Had to take beta blockers and blood pressure meds. Liver enzymes

started to go up and they corrected 50% blocked liver duct through ercp.

Still they went up from then until now. I finally had a biopsy and

ba-da-boom-ba-da-bing...NASH...

Thank you for explaining. I am 29 and have no under lying medical problems.

I am overweight and eat a poor diet and that Is why they figure I have NASH.

I am going to start on a low fat diet and try to correct the NASH. Hopefully

is will work.

message and I too feel my AIH was triggered by the hepatitis b

vacination. I also became initially sick right after the first shot and

had cirrhosis of the liver within seven months. IS THIS POSSIBLE! What

hep vaccine support group.

In 96 the doctors said it was impossible, now the are not so sure, the

vaccine can do alot of harm to certain individuals and aih is only one

I would be interestined in hearing more about the Hep

B vaccine. I have had to have two serious of those

shots. The first set did not get antibodies made by my

body. Since I work in a lab and play with blood they

suggested I have another series. My last series was in

1993. I still do not have antibodies. There are some

doctors who say it doesnt matter if you make the

antibody you are still immuned after these

shots..others say I am especially suseptible because I

do not make antibodies.. Now Im dealing with some sort

of hepatitis or perhaps cholangitis. so, please let me

know what you know about this subject or perhaps there

is a website set up for that.

Your story sound so frilmiar?? oh it sounds like mine.

There is 5% of the population that the hep b vaccine will not take.

It's a known fact, they do not know why? they even have a simple test

for this before you have the shot, which they neglected to do on me!!

After I had a set of 3 shots, I had no antibodies, so after I was

diagnosed they were curious to no if it had something to do with aih??

which should not interfere because they are separate illness.

I ahd the 3 shots again and a booster, still no antibodies!! If i had

the blood test to tell if I was in the 5% maybe i wouldn't be on this

list!!

But as my doctor said, it such a small % u would not be included, even

though his nurse had the set of 3 shots 3 times and no antibodies???

Weird thing is, she died of cancer last year??

thing to think about???

I need to find the sites i use to look at, I'll try to remember american

liver foundation is good.
