Guest guest
Uh is your doc living in a box? Grrr Now if the Ft4 and Ft3 are high, then you can have hyperthyroidism, which causes calcium loss. Guest guest
So, you're saying that the calcium loss doesn't have anything to do the a low TSH, right? thanks Bev > > Uh is your doc living in a box? You might want to refer her to the recommendations of the American Society of Endocrinologists and the National Academy of Clinical Biochemists: http://www.nacb.org/lmpg/thyroid_lmpg_pub.stm http://thyroid.about.com/gi/dynamic/offsite.htm?zi=1/XJ & sdn=thyroid & zu=http%3A%2\ F%2Fwww.nacb.org%2Flmpg%2Fthyroid_LMPG_PDF.stm and to some of the papers here: http://www.altsupportthyroid.org/tsh/tshmedrefs4.php#supp http://www.thyroid-info.com/articles/osteoporosis.htm It might be more accurate to state that chronic hyperT is likely to be associated with loss of bone density, but TSH should be considered just an indicator, which can be way off, especially in someone on thyroid medications. Guest guest
Disagree. Ask the endo for the scientific studies that prove that. She is equating a low TSH with hyperthyroidism, and they do not equate. Gail > > Just came for the endo and she said a low TSH cause osteoporosis. Years ago I was diagnosed as having hypothroidism, but do not fit the typical physial description. Have you all found any other links that could be considered in getting info? Thanks in advance. I am very curious to see what happens. (I am still preparing for my Endo appt on the 29th but my doc was all a mess on the hyper vs hypo, bloodwork vs symtpoms thing too.) Guest guest
it is my opinion that you risk osteoporosis on synthetic thyroid meds. Armour has calcitonen in it, which fixes calcium to bone. Vitamin D and DHEA are also important. Does your doc know what DHEA and calcitonen do? I would think not. Big Pharma is going to market a version of DHEA for osteoporosis treatment, costing $100-150 per month, but right now you can buy the same thing at HFS for $5. Gracia So, you're saying that the calcium loss doesn't have anything to do the a low TSH, right? thanks Bev > > Uh is your doc living in a box?
